I used the online method and printed the wage transcript. They want to know if your income/wages pass the poverty threshold. I am not self-employed and will have other documents as well.

what do you mean? i don't understand... well i thought we needed the w2s, tax returns, and tax transcripts all from post 3 years. so 2015, 2016, and 2017 tax year correct

5.

You will need several items (for the above form). Gather duplicate evidence of income and resources as appropriate:

(A) Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance
(B) Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available)
(C) If Self Employed: 1. Copy of last income tax return filed (or IRS transcripts); or 2. report of commercial rating concern
(D) List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

I have A and B.

IRS Transcripts are specifically required of individuals who are self-employed.

I do not think I will use them either. up in the air at this point. we'll see how this process finishes out..so far they really just double checked my work for the application.

That is pretty much all they do.  They also give bad advice.

I'm in the same boat, I'm also self-employed. Since the deadline is April 17 anyway, I'm planning to file my taxes in the next week and use my 2017 return for the I-134. Otherwise, they might think I'm trying to hide something.

Yeah that's what I was going to try to do as well. I guess that's the best route. Thanks

That is the standard answer.  It should be quicker!  Congratulations.  I was told the same thing and it was only 5 days from NVC received to Ready at the Manila Embassy

The validity of the approval is four months, no? At least mine is valid for 4 months.

The validity of the NOA2 for 12 months. The embassy will state 4 months but they will also extend in increments of 4 months at a time till the expiration date.  They would like you to feel that you have only 4 months as they want to put a sense of urgency in your processing so there are no bottle necks.

This is also my question. Has anyone received any hard copy from NVC, yet?  Will they send one to the petitioner? Please advise @Greenbaum ^_^

You will get a hard copy of the approval and the case number to the petitioner by email (sometimes) and by mail (sometimes). If you don't get a copy email them for a copy. Everything can be started here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do

We're rapidly approaching tax season and I'm wondering how that will affect the I-134 and required supporting docs. I'm self-employed and I don't know if I'll need to include my 2017 taxes or if 2016 will still suffice. Is April 17 a hard deadline for this stuff... before is 2016 and immediately after 2017 is required? Or do they still accept 2016 for a little while after? I'm thinking I should file now to have my 2017 packet by the time I need it.

You'll use the last one that you have sent to IRS. So if not 2017 the use 2016. If you have sent 2017 and you can get an ITR from the IRS website for 2017 then use it.
