Unbelievable.  After calling the NVC and verifying my case # FOUR TIMES CAREFULLY a few days ago, the girl on the line messed it up 4 times in a row, over and over.

I got an email this morning with a slightly different case number, called NVC and confirmed that the first one given was wrong.

Jeez!

We're rapidly approaching tax season and I'm wondering how that will affect the I-134 and required supporting docs. I'm self-employed and I don't know if I'll need to include my 2017 taxes or if 2016 will still suffice. Is April 17 a hard deadline for this stuff... before is 2016 and immediately after 2017 is required? Or do they still accept 2016 for a little while after? I'm thinking I should file now to have my 2017 packet by the time I need it.

Are you referencing to the end of tax season or the middle? Tax season begins from my understanding in January. I think I may have done an overkill with financial information. I have three years of tax information from 2015 -2017 plus paycheck stubs from my new job as well as an employee verification letter, and a letter from the bank (overkill) but my embassy im sure will try to be difficult and we will be ready. ;)

Yes sorry, I meant the end. I'm guessing they'll expect 2017 by the time of my fiance's interview. I'm visiting her in 2 weeks and was going to take the stuff to her so I didn't have to mail it. I guess I'll have to get my 2017 stuff done by then.

I had asked RapidVisa this and they said 2017 is only needed after April 15. However I forgot to ask if that meant if the interview is before/after that date or the general approval/NOA2. Assuming interview. I ended up ordering my tax transcripts from 2014-2017. People keep saying it's transcripts needed. Others say returns. I did transcripts. It seems too over bearing to send more than what's needed. Maybe the CO will think you're trying too hard, I don't know. (Generally speaking, not directed at you.) then the other side of me says, it's better to be safe than sorry with more than what's being asked.

tax returns OR transcripts.
Both have the same information so you can use either-
The reason many use tax returns is that depending on when you file, IRS might not have the transcript ready. Since it can take up to 6 weeks (if you did a paper return) before the IRS recognizes your filings. So if you file, you get the return immediately instead of waiting for transcripts online.

Maybe i should get them for the other two years. I'll have so much funding information they wont want to go through it all and just say here is your green slip come back next week for your visa :jest: (alternate universe of course)

You can contact your local IRS office or the actual IRS 1800 number. They can fax it to you, which you'll have to answer a host of personal questions if you take that route. It's easier to contact your local IRS because their faster.

Guys I also have another question, in regards to the collecting documents for i134 what are all the documents we must collect?

Also, i am currently a medical student, i have some money save up. however this year because i was not able to work i got medicaid, is this consider a public charge? i was reading that only if "

  • Programs (including Medicaid) supporting individuals who are institutionalized for long-term care (e.g., in a nursing home or mental health institution). (Note: costs of incarceration for prison are not considered for public charge determinations)"

I am using a co/sponsor for my application.

someone please help!

I requested 2014-2017 at the IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

Each year is a separate request.  Took about a week to receive them.  I filed my 2017 taxes the third week of February and was able to request the transcript 2 weeks later.

Hey my darling, no sad faces!  The storm of waiting for noa2 is over and it's just a matter of time till they assign you a case number. Cheer up sweetie, okay? I am not use to see you gloomy, not now that everything is almost done. Just hang in there and wait for a super itty bitty while, your case number will be given to you soon.

i knooow! it's just annoying cos of our 4 day weekend... even if we get it today after this moment, or tomorrow or monday,

i can't even call to schedule the medical or so... that's what's getting on my nerves now...

but u r right... the worst is behind and at least grace (second time today coughcough) was nice to read her script "up to 8 weeks..." friendlier than USCIS.... so it is what it is...

happy early easter :girlwerewolf2xn:

Personally I provided Tax returns for 3 years i also receive survivors benefits for my children i have three years for that as well as employee letter and a letter from the bank stating date account opened total amount deposited for the past year and present balance. Although you have a co sponsor you still have to fill put a i134 as far as Medicaid i cant be sure about that because if you can get medicaid you can get food stamps which they ( american government) are trying to prevent. When i was laid off from my job i refused to get anything because i didn't want anything to prevent us from being approved at the interview stage

Does the NVC close on the “holidays” like this coming Friday? I want to make a call if they received our case

I am a federal employee, so I know that federal government offices in the U.S. are open Friday.  Our next federal holiday is not until Memorial Day, May 28.  - Jason

I'm in the same boat, I'm also self-employed. Since the deadline is April 17 anyway, I'm planning to file my taxes in the next week and use my 2017 return for the I-134. Otherwise, they might think I'm trying to hide something.
