Thank you! :D

Matt, my fiancé, is still at work but I left him the screenshot to get back to. I’m so excited. This is OFFICIALLY the home stretch now.

I’ll post an update once we get his interview date sorted!

Keep on keeping on, everyone! It won’t be long now! ❤️

I think I am a bit confused.

Do I need to wait to submit DS-160 until the CEAC says Ready or I need to submit the form asap then NVC would send it to the embassy? Thanks

You will need the number from NVC.  Once you have that you can submit the DS-160 and pay the MRV.  If you call and get the number then you can submit the DS-160 right away.  It varies from country to country on when you can schedule interview and medical.

The DS-160 will be sent with your package to the embassy.  Also have copies of everything for medical and interviews.

I never called USCIS because I couldn't, but the NVC was just on the point, no hello, no nothing, i said good morning, no reaction. The first thing was asking for the case number then we didnt receive it or when received started to ask more questions before telling me. And then after giving the number, i asked it again just in case, she was helpful, repeated it, i said thank you and she just hang up. :)) Maybe because it was like 701AM their time? :))) Can't imagine how bad USCIS can be.

Bad! 👿

they answered you as if you were pestering them and they were rude and condescending on top of everything else. Not helpful or even willing to be helpful. Out of all the calls I made due to the long processing time of our petition, only one was pleasant.

I have the number from NVC. The case is at NVC, at least what the CEAC says.

On DS-160 form itself didn't ask for NVC number, they wanted the USCIS number if I am not mistaken. Do I need to change that to NVC number?

I scheduled my medical already. It will be next Wednesday. Was waiting for the case to be ready at the embassy to submit the DS-160 and pay the visa fee.

Like I said, it is very different country to country.  We needed to show medical that the visa fee was paid in order to actually have the exams.  We also needed to show that we had an interview date and time confirmed before we could do medical.  At least that is what they were told by the staff at the clinic.  It does vary greatly from country to country.  Many countries don't allow the interview to be scheduled until CEAC is listed as "READY".

I think the WAC number is fine for the DS-160.  That is a pretty simple straight forward form.  I think you are fine doing medical and then paying the MRV and submitting the DS-160.  In the Philippines it is very different than most other countries.

Thanks. That is why so confusing because it differes for a lot of countries. For the medical they wanted to have "the number" so I booked it because the results are up to 7 days.

The DS-160 is indeed kind of str8forward, in total took around 2 hours with breaks and "sleeping on it", revisiting etc.

That is another difference.  In the Philippines medical is usually 2 days and they walk out with their files when they are done.  It is common to do medical on Monday and Tuesday and have the interview scheduled for Thursday or Friday.  I hear some countries take a week or two to get the files from medical to the embassy.

Hi marchies, does anyone knows how is the calendar for interview in RDJ/Brazil? I couldn't read back, I know how annoying it is when someone just show up making a dumb question that was said before, but I just went back to see September's thread and now I need to enjoy my last day with my fiance since I'm going back to Brazil tomorrow. Big explanation  but there are other Brazilians out here??

DI put no because there are other parts on the form where it will ask you to list the fiance information. The question reads if there has ever been anyone else like a previous employer or previous spouse or relative etc.

Okay. @Trinab80 if we get technical here, the questions asks for anyone who has field for immigrant petition, so the employer would not count unless the employer has filed for your green card before cuz if an employer applied for your temporary work visa then that is a non immigrant petition. This is getting too technical and idk what the right answer is cuz i was in Us on student visa and my employer had field for work visa which was denied. So do I mention that or just answer no as well to the above question?

The question is basically asking has anyone filed a petition with USCIS on your behalf so that would mean if someone or some organization has or has in the past filed on your behalf in order to come to the US. So you would answer yes if your employer filed a petition in order for you to obtain a US Visa which in this case would have been a US work visa which means they were gonna sponsor you and therefore had to petition on your behalf.

Does that make more sense?

We did DS-160, notification of applicant readiness form, and then when we try to schedule the actual interview, we get "this case is not ready for interview."

The string of curse words running through my mind is ridiculous. Spent 2 hours with fiancé completing DS-160. Just want this to be done.
