ok sounds like a plan.  is it possible to check it online at this point or only after receiving the nvc number?

Thanks!

Checking NVC online if they already received your case is not possible at this point. You can obtain that information through calling NVC or waiting for them to send an e-mail stating that they have already assigned you a case number. Once case number assigned, use your NVC case number at CEAC to track it's progress from NVC to USEM in the beneficiary's place of interview.

I'm not sure if this was answered. I went back about 10 pages and didn't see it.. BUT, is there an exact time we can start the DS 160? On Rapid Visa it says ,"Not needed until Interview" so we haven't touched it yet.

You may want to review your instructions from your packet 3/Embassy letter. Sometimes during your processing you may need it for something other than the interview. Our Embassy in the Philippines requires the last page of the DS-160 to complete the medical.

But, usually you will do it now only because you get the satisfaction that one of your items be crossed off the BIG TO DO LIST. :D

Yep, no one should be left behind. I wish @Naes would be able to catch up and join March thread before the month ends. I really want her to be approved soon, too. Aja! (means never give up in Korean) @Swissmiss82 I have a feeling that you'll have your case number tomorrow!

SO many people I want to see here but especially @JSCGPV who really ought to be here, actually probably should have been on the NVC February thread to be perfectly honest.  This journey is still SO sucky for so many people and it makes me sad in the midst of all my excitement that June and July peeps have still seen no movement. ( I won't jinx them with sad face emoji's)

Let's take a closer look at why and what they are asking.

"have you ever had a US visa canceled or revoked"  Let's say you applied for a visa before and you went through everything even to the point you finished the interview and received your visa. The next day you get a call from the Embassy asking you to return to the Embassy with the visa. Once there they inform your because your visa is being canceled. Of course you go nuts and in the end they make the rules and your visa is DEAD.

"have you ever been denied entry or admission into the US" You get your visa and you travel to the US and upon entry they ask you to go to secondary screening and they tell you nothing. So you sit in 2nd screening area for 2 hours upon which a Immigration Officer approaches and calls you into his/her office. That IO explains that in further investigating, you have xyz in your past and therefore we are denying you entry. You'll need to get on the next flight back to your country. Visa is DEAD.

Don't think this has not happened as just about 2 years ago a visa after being issued was revoked. Don't know why as the OP never said. But it does happen rare as it may seem.

Well, I'm the OP, and my fiancé was denied entry at POE in while traveling on his tourist visa that he was issued a month prior. He was denied because, based off of what the CBO told me AND him, they questioned whether or not if he would actually try and stay in the US to get married while using his tourist visa. They didn't doubt he was coming to visit but they thought that he simply applied for the tourist visa for the purpose to visit AND stay to get marry, which was not the case. So, he was denied admission or "entry" at POE and his tourist visa was cancelled. He does not have a criminal record or "anything in his past". He said he was visiting his Uncle in Orlando which is where the POE took place and then flying from Orlando to Philadelphia to visit his fiancé 2 days later - all 3 airline tickets were paid for. Even when I spoke with the CBO agent myself who interviewed him, he said that we should just do the K1 visa because "he would then be my responsibility and not theirs".

So what I was asking was do I simply answer both questions "yes" and provide the same explanation for each question because in my opinion, I thought it was redundant question.

Yes you will answer "Yes". In the explanation you can explain and then copy to the 2nd question. You'll be fine. Putting yourself in their shoes, or the shoes of someone who wants to get to the USA the quickest and less hassle would use a tourist visa. It has happened and I'm sure the CBO could tell us stories that would make our hair curl.

I was at my wife's interview and I was sitting in the waiting area while she was being interviewed. I was close to a CO who was interviewing a girl who was trying to get a visa for her and "her son". Turns out the son was her sisters and she was trying to get a visa under the disguise of being the parent. They were denied and band for 10 years.

Good luck on your journey.

Wowwwwww.....that's crazy!!!

But no, ours was a simple case of "my fiancé should have listen to me and flew directly to me first and then went to visit his uncle in Orlando before going back home." Philly airport wouldn't have treated him in the way that they did, but it's a learning experience nonetheless. Just sucked because he saved up his money to get the tourist visa because I wanted him to share the back and forth traveling to see other because I was running out of vacation day early and thought it would be easier for him to come visit me too....but it is what it is.

I will be present for his interview so whatever questions they have for us we will be right there together to answer them.

Hang in there lovely.  Tomorrow is another day and I'm sure mine was an odd one out to go so fast.  In other news Good Friday and Easter Monday are not federal holidays in the USA so they will both be full working weeks for them to give you that number xxx

Where NVC does additional checks of your case. Were you told that's what is going on with your case? People have been told AP doesn't happen for fiancé visas, only marriage ones but I have no idea.

Ok, that makes sense I think the person I spoke to used the wrong terminology...my case is in transit now. I hope all others hear good news and positive updates too 💕❤️💓💞🎆🎇🌷

I completely agree! :( She has put in soooo much work into this and I think since she switched to that bong-smoking pink bear as her profile pic I've also started worrying about her health. She needs some light at the end of this tunnel, too.

Love you guys!!

seriously can’t  explain how much this made me feel better. I don’t think I’ll be able to join march topic with you.

but well one myth went down! Nope simplicity of the case doesn’t mean anything.. I even double asked my fiancé “are you sure you never had trouble” well... he joined navy at the age of 19 and had honorable discharge so.... he just looked at me puzzled...

my problem is my job kinda put me in a place where I have to give a definite answer by first week of May if I’m staying longer or not... cause I need to go to France for 3 months...so if I don’t get it in 2 weeks I’ll either have to somehow extend the noa2 validity or just cancel this and get married and restart everything.

Does anyone know know if I can extend for personal reasons?

PS_ @LizM girl it’s really not smoking 🤣🤣🤣 in japan they show exhaustion like in animes by showing their soul is running out of their body....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂 promise no bong smoking happening... but yep all kinds of stress related health issues started to show up... cause they signed me up for a 4000$ worth training....and I cant even give them a definite answer....

Hi @Naes

I was searching around a bit for you when I read this.  Not sure if this is of any help to you?  I cut and past from an immigration web site

"Once you receive approval of your I-129F fiance visa petition, it will be good for four months. (The exact date it expires will be shown on the approval notice that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) sends you.)

Within that four-month  time period, the National Visa Center (NVC) will communicate with your overseas fiance, asking him to fill out an online form, get a medical exam done, pay fees, and take other steps to  get ready for a visa interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate in Japan.

Unlike before, however, he isn't at the mercy of the U.S. consulate when it comes to scheduling. As of 2014, fiance visa applicants must schedule their own visa interviews. So if it helps matters,  he could make the appointment fairly late within that four-month window.

If the case gets delayed after that, but your fiance has been actively pursuing it, the consulate has the power to extend the four-month deadline."

Also looked it up on an old visa journey post and here is a link to "extend I129F" doc

http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples

I will keep looking for you.  What a shitty predicament to be in now you have got this far.  But I'm sure things will work out - they have to! You are the Visa Journey angel xxx
