Reading forums now i got paranoid again. Lol. I put Toronto for my fiance’s embassy. But Montreal is the only embassy processing K1’s. Do i have to change the embassy or does it go automatically to Montreal? Anybody who knows? Atleast i can fix it before it gives me HUGE delays.Thank you.

I'm pretty sure it'll automatically go to Montreal. Mumbai is where K1s are all processed now in India (as of January) and a lot of Indian K1 applicants are in the same boat. I wouldn't worry.

Very sorry to hear this. Have they specifically stated that Russian US visa applicants will be affected?

I don't think immigrant visas will be directly affected, but since there will be less officers there will be less dates for interview. It happened last August, and now there are barely dates for interview. In the middle of March they opened 10 spots for May 31st haha. We shall see how it goes, but it looks just terrible so far..

NOA2 March 2

I just called, still no case number... it's been 23 days. This feels personal. Anyone else in my shoes?

I'm sure it's not personal, but it will move really fast after you get the number! It took less than 48 hours for mine to turn to ready in Ankara. There's still lots of April appointments left! I wish I could switch with you since we're waiting until 5/2 for his interview so that he can get through his university finals and so that my parents could come on this trip.

They send it automatically, we put Winnipeg but they'll send it to Montreal and Canada is electronic as well :) Should expect to get a case number 7 days after NVC received, then about a day in transit (still waiting to be out of transit myself). You're lucky you're close to the medical offices!

Cool. Thank you. I think it’s a very good sign then. How long till NVC got your file? Just received noa2 today but dated 03/21.

Everything should be done in like 2-3 mos?

Ours was received exactly two weeks out, but that can vary.. All in all, you should expect your case to be with the embassy within a month. Your medical and appointment is sort of up to your schedule and their availability, we're expecting an appointment hopefully around May 14th because that's all FH can do, but you may be able to do things even sooner than us. We have to push it out cause of flights and work

It's really not the most comfortable place to be, right at the hands of politicians with their respective agendas. I never quite knew what that felt like before this process. And yet, us K1s generally have it relatively easy immigration-wise. It definitely is a sobering experience.

Fingers crossed that your case will leave the NVC asap so you can get your interview spot as early as possible! You're so close.

Thank you so much for your support, Liz. We're trying to find a backup plan just in case, I'm feeling very unsure and unprotected now.

Btw did I tell you that I'm totally in love with Sweden and Swedish? 😊

Haha yes you did 😄 but then you went off and visited Finland over Christmas if I remember correctly, and that made me very disappointed 😉

Awwww I'm sorry, but Helsinki was so much cheaper than Stockholm!! 😄and my fiancée is learning Finnish...

but but but but her great great great grandfather was Swedish, she has a Swedish last name, and I have taken Swedish classes for a semester and am gonna start them again in the US. And I'm also the biggest fan of Astrid Lindgren in this country 😄 does it make me look better in your eyes? XD

Do we have to wait for nvc mail inorder to move on? rapidvisa said nvc letter is needed to move on which will arrive 3-6 weeks.

Have you received any email from NVC? If yes then I guess you can print that and that will be good enough. My friend who have undergone her medical today in the Philippines doesn't have the NVC hard copy. She took a screenshot of her status in CEAC and that's what she brought.

Did you call them a week after noa2? What’s FH? I really wish things go faster now. Just wanna get done with it. Thanks for all the info.

They said montreal sets your interview not you. So it’s actually you who choose medical and interview dates.

A week is appropriate, some people get their cases in less than 10 days. And FH just just means "future husband", sorry :) but I feel you, I just want this process to be over already..

Can I ask where you saw that Montreal sets our interview? My call with the embassy and all other information has indicated otherwise, but perhaps I'm wrong

There was one person who posted it. But maybe it was before they went electronically. So if you call nvc to update, you need to press 5 instead? And will still be able to talk to a person or maybe just the computer who will check info?
