Me. NOA2 2/27, NVC received 3/16 and still no case number. I haven't seen anyone in the electronic group take over 7 days. I did see some people get their case number on the 8th day so the 6th business day from NVC receive date and I'm on the 6th business day. If I don't have it today I'm going to ask to speak to someone who can tell me what's going on with my case, if it's even been touched. It's going to be a month since NOA2 tomorrow!

If you don't mind me asking....what do you mean by the "electronic group"?

Were you on the option 5 or option 7 when you called NVC? Go to the CEAC website and input your case # under immigrant visa.

I did option 7... Thank you so much

When you call NVC, once they have your case they'll tell you if you need to call back and press option 5. This means you're in the electronic group and it's embassy based and means they will send your case to the embassy electronically and they will have it same day. It does take longer for this group to get a case number so at this point I'd rather be in the regular group.

Is this random or is everyone gonna be in this "electronic group"?

You have to find someone that has already scheduled interview at your embassy and ask them to check in the system..

Ahh I see. Thanks. Thought I am not doing something right.

It's based on how the embassy wants to receive cases. So embassy decides if they want electronic or paper copy. The ones in group 5, the embassy chose to receive cases electronically and set up a process for it.

Is there a way you can change your embassy? I always read here that people are doing the process based on the embassy they live at, so not a nationality thing. Maybe because of your special diplomatic situation they will let you change embassy at this point!

Use your case number to track your status at CEAC https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Once your status says "READY" then you can follow your case at the USEM where the beneficiary will have the interview. USEM will send packet 3 to the beneficiary. It contains instructions about the medical and documents needed during the interview and how to schedule your interview.

You can also start filling out the DS-160 online while waiting for your status to be ready.

Do we have to wait for nvc mail inorder to move on? rapidvisa said nvc letter is needed to move on which will arrive 3-6 weeks.

Hi. After 7 months, just got our noa2 in the mail today :) Im excited to be part of this group now. So noa2 is 03/21. And my embassy will be Montreal. One of the vj’ers had their file sent electronically. Does it mean Montreal is an embassy who wants them electronically?

Once NVC has your case, if you're in the electronic group, they'll tell you to call back and dial option 5 instead of 7.
