Ok so I TOTALLY lied! I really, really want NVC to receive my case now!!! It feels ridiculous to be impatient after 14 days when we waited 215 to complete the first step!  I know all of you will tell me to take a deep breath and prepare for the next step but we already have it all in hand. So ready to start our life without 3500 miles between us!

take a deep breath and role with the tide. i was in the same boat few days ago. it will be a few more days and it'll be over. when it's At NVC, you wont imagine how fast it goes.

Get your police certificate ASAP. They can take up to 4 weeks to get and are vital to have for your medical.

so in order

- Have fiance work on I-134 and supporting docs ASAP. Ours took 2 weeks to arrive in snail mail from US east coast.

- submit for police certificate

- get medical summary from gp (and vaccine list). If you have any prior medical conditions maybe get a letter from GP describing them. (i.e depression)

- gather evidence

- Book medical

- complete DS160

- complete medical questionnaire

- Check case status and then when you see it say "Ready"

- Check your emails they will be sending "Packet 3" info (just some instructions)

- Pay Visa Fee

-Fill our readiness form

- Book appointment at consulate (For a minimum of 5 business days after Medical but 7-10 days is better)

I hope this helps :)

If you have questions let me know!

Hi All, sorry to jump in on this but what is a readiness form?

Thank you in advance

Yes, NOA2 dated 19th March, so I should expect them to have it by 2nd April, but will they send a letter or do I need to call them to get a case number?

i called few days after i got my NOA2. it took them exactly 14 days after issuing my NOA2 to receive it, but it could be shorter. NVC does not let you know they have your approved petition

I got my NVC number last Friday, Mar 23. Status is still at NVC. Do I need to wait for it to be “Ready” before I pay my visa fee and book an interview schedule?

Beneficiary from the Philippines here. Thanks!

Where NVC does additional checks of your case. Were you told that's what is going on with your case? People have been told AP doesn't happen for fiancé visas, only marriage ones but I have no idea.

so how long do cases typically spend at the NVC before getting sent off? Thank you.

Depends on if you’re in the option 5 or option 7 group. I’ve seen some spend 10-14 days at NVC but others get sent in one day
