At least it's working out one way or another! We've waited this long... What's a bit more waiting? I do find it crazy that there's only one location in the entire UK that's allowed to do this. I understand the principle of needing an approved place to carry this out for fraud purposes, but surely there could be more! Especially having even just one more in Scotland and Wales (and even Northern Ireland presuming they'd also need to get to London). I feel fortunate to live close to London so all I need is a train compared to a plane journey, which seems so unfair - especially as it has to be done twice for the medical and *then* the interview itself.

I was totally thinking the same thing! We are lucky he lives 2 hours on the train direct to London. I can't imagine if he had to travel from Scotland or Wales TWICE. I totally agree about the waiting. It will go by fast now. He's still going the night before since his appointment is first thing in the morning we want to be safe (can't tell you how many times we've had issues with trains there lol) but if you haven't booked a hotel yet, we've found amazing deals at Travelodge.

Yup, that's my pain.... Having to travel on a 9+ hour coach to London for my Foreign Police Certificates...
Now the medical.... the interview.... Oh gosh :dead:

Does anyone know why when I look up my case status and it says "in transit" it says that that our "interview was provided to us by the NVC?" That makes no sense can anyone help? Don't we schedule the interview ourselves?

Don't worry, that appears to be their generic status to cover multiple types of visas for multiple countries. What you and I have done is totally accurate - all UK residents need to book their interview directly with the embassy.

Thank you - I've also been researching hotels due to the unreliability of UK trains! I used to commute to work in London, and I'm prepared for there to be inevitable problems...

Gosh I had a mini heart attack lol. Thank you for clearing that up. So should we wait to book the interview until our status is "ready" or can we do it now?

Hahaha! Yeah the amount of times he and I have been stuck in Salisbury (our halfway point to London) because of one thing or another on the trains blows my mind. There are travelodges all over central london. There's one in Vauxhall that is super close to the new embassy and one in Covent Gardens that is not too far from the medical. So he's staying at each of them.

If you can book on the embassy website (you'll need your DS-160 number and case number), then you should go ahead and do it! A few of us have had issues this week despite our cases being READY, so don't despair if the website tells you that your interview is not yet ready to schedule. It should change in a few days... But you might be one of the lucky people who haven't had this problem!

Just compiled about 99% of documents to send to my fiancé along with the I-134. Does anyone know if London requires the letter from the bank like in the instructions, or if I can just send bank statements?

@Trinab80, I am so proud to share my NVC month with you. Few here will never realize how difficult and stressful your wait was.  You handled it so well publicly.  I know what it was like for you on the inside.  All I can say is that things fly right now.  The last 10 months don't matter at all anymore.  It is strange that the stress just goes away.  Now get ready because this can go so fast that you get dizzy.

Aww John...I almost didn't make it this month but I'm happy to be on the rest of this journey with you. All those tears and vent sessions are a thing of the past now and we are so ready for the rest of this process. Thanks for being that ear and keeping me encouraged during my wait.

Now let's finish this last of the leg strong!

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/11/2021 - Check cashed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

Hi everybody,

Checked my NVC case status and it says:

Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.

I’m a little bit confused as I was convinced that you’re supposed to schedule an interview with your embassy after paying the fee and you can pick the date yourself.

anyone knows how it works?

thanks in advance

Ok so I TOTALLY lied! I really, really want NVC to receive my case now!!! It feels ridiculous to be impatient after 14 days when we waited 215 to complete the first step!  I know all of you will tell me to take a deep breath and prepare for the next step but we already have it all in hand. So ready to start our life without 3500 miles between us!

Aww thanks love! I really don't know what I would have done without the people  I have met on Visa Journey.  Through the darkest and happiest of times friends like you have always been here to support me and others and I am SO grateful for that.  I am glad we are in this crazy boat together!
