Where NVC does additional checks of your case. Were you told that's what is going on with your case? People have been told AP doesn't happen for fiancé visas, only marriage ones but I have no idea.

No, I was told this by a visa blogger, that's what the NVC does. Could Administrative Processing mean scanning petitions to go abroad?

They don’t do this to Fiancè visas.. I’ve read that 1% get told they’re in AP for a Fiancè visa and that may be because uscis didn’t process something correctly. Whoever told you that was most likely talking about CR1 visas which is the marriage visa.. NVC is a much bigger stage for them than for us. They scan every case to send to embassy and that’s not referred to as AP.

Thank you for replying! We booked our medical yesterday. My fiance booked it. He said it was fairly simple, he called first thing in the morning and didn't have to wait. He really wanted the 16th (it was perfect for his work schedule) so he suggested it to them. At first the lady said it was booked, but then she said she found a spot first thing in the morning so he took it. We just got lucky I think. I'll let you know if I have trouble registering to book our interview! Good luck with you case as well :)

That's very fortunate for him! It does sound like late March and early April is going to be fully booked, but I'll still keep asking occasionally if they have any slots sooner! Although technically it could be just over a month and a half until I'm able to move, which suddenly feels like no time at all...!

I’m so sorry everyone, I know this has been asked a million and one times (I’ve seen it all over VJ) but I can’t seem to really find a definitive answer of EXACTLY what I need to do next! I’ve been googling all morning and I’m just reading different things everywhere.

We got our case number yesterday (I’m the UK beneficiary) and I just don’t know what to do and in what order. So far I think this is what I need to do:

- check case number on CEAC until it says “ready”

- complete DS-160

- obtain police certificate

- get medical summary from GP

- complete medical questionnaire

- fill out the “readiness” form (but I’ve seen conflicting information about this - help!)

- get affidavit form from my fiancé along with proof of income, harcopy of NOA2, letter of intent to marry

- gather further evidence of ongoing relationship since applying

sorry for the long post, can someone confirm? 💋

Make sure to read up on threads in the UK forum, if you haven't already. There's information on there to help you, and also keep you updated on the latest experiences in our neck of the woods. :) http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

I also read that you don't need to fill in the readiness form anymore, but I did it anyway just in case!

@Trinab80, I am so proud to share my NVC month with you. Few here will never realize how difficult and stressful your wait was.  You handled it so well publicly.  I know what it was like for you on the inside.  All I can say is that things fly right now.  The last 10 months don't matter at all anymore.  It is strange that the stress just goes away.  Now get ready because this can go so fast that you get dizzy.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

Yeah! They said that was the earliest date they could get him in for which worked for him because he has to give work 3 weeks notice for holiday anyways. We were really hoping for April 9th but I'll gladly settle for the 16th. I still can't believe London only has ONE doctor that can do this. It's not wonder they fill up so fast. But hey, maybe try to call once a week to see if there was a cancellation? I honestly think that's the only reason we got a spot on the 16th. Good luck!!

Get your police certificate ASAP. They can take up to 4 weeks to get and are vital to have for your medical.

so in order

- Have fiance work on I-134 and supporting docs ASAP. Ours took 2 weeks to arrive in snail mail from US east coast.

- submit for police certificate

- get medical summary from gp (and vaccine list). If you have any prior medical conditions maybe get a letter from GP describing them. (i.e depression)

- gather evidence

- Book medical

- complete DS160

- complete medical questionnaire

- Check case status and then when you see it say "Ready"

- Check your emails they will be sending "Packet 3" info (just some instructions)

- Pay Visa Fee

-Fill our readiness form

- Book appointment at consulate (For a minimum of 5 business days after Medical but 7-10 days is better)

I hope this helps :)

If you have questions let me know!

Does the NOA2 has to be the original sent to the petitioner? Or a copy of that will suffice?

I don't know if this depends on the consulate. But from what i've heard, send a copy of it but not the real thing. Because you need the real thing for when you Adjust Status. So I doubt they would take your real NOA2 at the embassy (or that you would want them to since you know you're gonna need it later). I hope this helps!

I am going to be calling NVC Monday, and every day afterwards until the case number is assigned.  I am hoping it will be next week.  The woman I spoke to said they will send the e-mail to me because mine was the only one included in the petition or G-1145.

Once we have the case number assigned, we can track the progress on the CEAC website.  Vietnam is probably different from Venezuela, but we have to wait until the case shows as "ready" at the embassy and we receive the invitation letter/email before scheduling the medical exam and interview.  With Vietnam, I can e-mail the embassy and request the info by e-mail if I don't want to wit for or trust the mail in Vietnam.  We are hoping that could be in 2 weeks or less!

Thank you this is super encouraging. I can't wait for our case to finally be in the consulate's hands.

@K & R Check your NVC status today online. We are same date arrival and case number issued... just checked and ours shows IN TRANSIT to embassy!!! We already completed DS-160 (just need your case number is all), submitted, set up profile on cgiforce website, paid fee and he's going to medical/biometric on the 29th in Chennai and interview April 13th in Mumbai. You can start ahead now without waiting for it to reach embassy.... the packet is instructions for same steps above. Good luck my friends!!

At least it's working out one way or another! We've waited this long... What's a bit more waiting? I do find it crazy that there's only one location in the entire UK that's allowed to do this. I understand the principle of needing an approved place to carry this out for fraud purposes, but surely there could be more! Especially having even just one more in Scotland and Wales (and even Northern Ireland presuming they'd also need to get to London). I feel fortunate to live close to London so all I need is a train compared to a plane journey, which seems so unfair - especially as it has to be done twice for the medical and *then* the interview itself.

For all my fellow Turks - @turkishdelight @Elif - these are the interview dates available in Ankara right now.

In April they're all at 8am and in May they're all at 8:30am.
