Are you having to wait long for a medical/interview appointment? It's going to be over before you know it 🙏 The Swedish embassy is closed all of next week for Easter. A bit of a bummer, but maybe we'll have some update the week after!

I have to wait until April 19th for my medical, and having difficulties booking my interview. :( I really hope things go a bit better next week for me, and the following week for you! It's strange that they'd close for a full week for Easter though. Is that usual in Sweden? I'm sorry that it delays things for you further. The positive that we're finally making some progress, albeit slowly!

Did the same this morning, around 720EST, so who knows.

The person said it can take up to 6 weeks, but call next week.

I must admit I'm a bit jealous/frustrated that so many with NOA2 dates up to a week after mine have a case number. It feels more personal than the USCIS process because our paperwork all came from the same place and one would think NVC does the same thing with every case: assigns it a case number and sends it to the embassy. :wacko: Maybe it's slower to get a case number for the electronic group, I'm guessing?

Try not to let that get you down since it will move very fast once you get your number. I have some thought that NVC tries to course correct USCIS waits a little since John and I were both Junebugs that were well out of normal processing time. Or maybe it's dumb luck. :)

Also, Ankara sent an email to me (petitioner) and our lawyer confirming they received our case at 4:23am. Came from AnkaraIV@state.gov with subject of "Schedule an appointment -XXXXX, BULENT-ANK2018XXXXXX". Text below.

Dear Petitioner;

Greetings from US Embassy, Ankara,

This is in regards to the K1 visa petition you filed on behalf of XXXX, BULENT. We would like to inform you that your approved petition has reached our office.

Please click on https://tr.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/ for "Instructions for K1 Visa applicants". A separate paper instruction packet will not be sent.

The instructions you will find in the links provided will guide you to schedule an online appointment for your visa interview.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Unit

US Embassy, Ankara, Turkey

My question is, what is administrative processing at the NVC?

Where NVC does additional checks of your case. Were you told that's what is going on with your case? People have been told AP doesn't happen for fiancé visas, only marriage ones but I have no idea.

Let me know when you call again today what they say! It seems from what I've read they assign case #s in the morning. I haven't seen anyone say they got theirs in the afternoon but I haven't asked too many people haha

Finally got medical sorted out, it isn't the answer we hoped for, but we have to accept that (the closest place is a 20 hour drive :( )

How much time are you all giving between your medical and interview dates (or estimated interviews)? We're doing the medical 4/25 and hoping for an interview around 5/14, but we have to have the medical info shipped out to FH's address between those dates.. Hopefully we aren't too crazy :P
