Okay, where do I begin. I received an email last evening that something was coming for me in the mail. So all day I've been sitting at work, tracking the mail every now and then, sceptically but excitedly watching it get closer and closer. And you know what? Suddenly the status changes to 'delivered', to a delivery place. I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought it would take weeks. And what's more - I actually sort of rushed from work to have time and GO PICK IT UP. I first got home to my mailbox and was disappointed to find that no one had left me a receipt - usually needed when you go pick up something at the delivery place. Reason was my name had actually rubbed off my mailbox over the winter...  I was incredibly annoyed with myself for a while because instructions specifically said "it's important to have name on mailbox etc etc". I'm an idiot. Never thought it would just rub off. Anyway, I went to the delivery place either way, gave them the tracking number from the email, and my driver's licence. And voilà! They actually gave me the grey package without any receipt.

So I have my visa on hand. And there's more - my POE. My POE will be 5/24/2018. That's 16 days from now!!! Sixteen days! Just in time for Memorial Day weekend. As long as Norwegian airlines won't go bankrupt (which is actually not completely unrealistic unfortunately, but please keep all or your fingers and toes crossed for me) I will be in the US in just over two weeks.

NOA1 - VOH: 239 days.

NOA1 - POE: 255 days.

I am absolutely THRILLED.

Congratulations!!!!!

So happy it’s done for you!!!! (No Norwegian airlines can hold on for another 2-3 weeks, we will do crowdfunding if necessary!!!)

HI All,

Hoping someone may have an answer for us. I have a letter from my office confirming my salary, which is higher than needed to support my fiance (by uscis official terms). But I also gave him 2 years of my tax filings to bring to the interview as well. I unfortunately forgot to sign my taxes, does anyone know if this invalidates their legality? Do I have a problem here? It took 6 weeks for my package to arrive to my fiance (it was held up in customs for a month) and I am worried I can get "fresh ink" signature copies of my taxes to him in time for his interview on the 22nd.

Sooo, I got my embassy letter today, I need to collect all the documents and copies before I can schedule my interview, which is fine, but I do have one more question for you guys :)

"an original birth certificate of every person named in the application" is that just mine or my fiancé's too? I mean logically I'm the one applying for the visa, but obviously both of our names are on every form, so just trying to make sure that I make the right choice. We're sooo close and I really don't want to mess up and delay the process.

Oh and also, "an original birth certificate" the one you get at your town hall should do it right?

Thanks lovelies

Atti didn’t get the visa, He was missing 3 documents the consul said. Police certificate needed to be a particular one specifically for immigrants , which I had told him to get cause I had read that on VJ forum and he still got the the wrong one. Same thing for military record.  We also need to apply for a I-601 and an I-212 each $930. (I just checked processing times for those forms on uscis and it says 13-18 months) even though consul told Atti it would take like 3 months. 🤷‍♀️

I’m just depleted right now!

First of all fresh ink wouldn’t be necessary either way. You can sign and scan.

What I didn’t know is that you needed to sign tax return transcripts..

Woah, I’m so sorry... What are those forms you need to file for, exactly? I thought if you missed something at the interview you could just send it to the consulate afterwards and they’d be good.

We have a difficult one... re entry waiver due to over stay  and refusal of entry 20+ years ago...

Oh love I’m so sorry. Hang in there, get those forms and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Sending hugs xxx
