Wow, another person from Morocco - finally. I've only met a few and some were CR-1's... just an FYI - I'm flying out wednesday and just filled out the I-864 and i'll have my mother sign it anyway - It's not needed, but since this site will drive someone to drink - and I don't drink, ever - my anxiety about everything will be much more calm if I just do it anyway since I have the option. *sigh*

yeah we just got noa2 approved since 3 days ago and now we are working for the next step, i would like to know why you re flying back will you pass the interview too

I think like Naes said it’s related to the documents you have sent in. They received them earlier but have probably only now started working on your case because your interview date is getting closer. That’s why they have started a ”new” case (new created date and updated date). Does your CEAC also say non-immigrant now and not immigrant anymore?

My status is the same as yours and I had my interview on Thursday, but that’s also when they received all my docs. So I think it makes sense that you would have the same status :) A friend in the Scandinavian forum said this status just means the case is not with the consular office but the issuing office. It can however go back and forth.

Ahhhh I completely missed the fact of your interview! Congrats!! Hopefully you'll get your passport with visa soon :)

well I know three girls (four including me) who have k1 interview the coming week. Three of us (including me) have AP status, so probably we're good..

thats why i don't come on here as often as i once did.

each person has their opinion but its enough to make someone crazy.

even on my embassies website it mentioned the 134 for k1 and 864 for cr1

and what some people think is a waste of time, isn't... good luck! :D

this is incorrect though. the 864 is for the cr1 or AOS process after the k1

May I recommend you get up to date on your information. Yes I agree that the I-864 is required for the AOS BUT the CO can ask for the 864 at the interview. Co-sponsor must submit th 864 to prove to the CO that he/she/they are capable of being held accountable for their ensuring that the couple will not become a ward of the state.

Please see https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html#8 which states that the I-134 is a document that must be prepared an available to the CO at the interview.

and

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/establish-financial-support/i-864-affidavit-faqs.html as it states that the CO can require the 864 from the petitioner at the time of the interview. So I recommend to the OP that they prepare both documents for their interview in the event it is asked for. (Some Embassy's are not asking for financial support documentation. The Philippines is just one example and they haven't on a consistent basis asked every interviewee for this information for the past 2 years). Wouldn't you want the OP properly prepared for their interview in the event the CO asked for these two required documents?

Check here for the income level you must meet before you need to consider a co=sponsor. Rule of thumb is if you can prove your income levels to the satisfaction of the CO (IRS tax transmittals are the best documents to fulfill this requirement) then you do not need a co-sponsor.

Proof of relationship (pictures, chats, call logs)

Proof of having met (plane tickets + hotels, ticket stubs, movie tickets - anything we did together)

I-134

3 years of tax returns + transcripts. (Unsure of which they want)

2017 W2

Letter from employer showing how much I make , when I started and that I'm still employed

Updated letter of Intent (one for each of us..)

Pay stubs (At least 2 months worth..)

Where did you find these requirements because some Embassy's only require one year of tax information. I didn't see that requirement on Morocco's website.

They will use either; tax returns (the look at line #22 for the income level) or transcripts. I went with IRS Transcripts, which are free and you can download and print on the same day at no charge. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

I'm just worried that it was caused by something that could lead to denial. But I can't really think of anything that would.

I'm going to contact them, but I'm almost 100% sure I'll get some blanket response. I asked here because I thought somebody might have had this before the interview and have no troubles later.

There are country specific portals that give you a lot of information concerning your visa. At the top of this page to the left you will see a tab labeled "portals". Select it and the search for your country.  Also, have you been to the Russian Embassy website where there is a wealth of information including some warnings. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ru/index.html?firstTime=No

Providing more is optional. There's a box to check off if you chose to supply the last 3 years and then you enter in the information for those years.

Why do when do will do?

If you follow all the links on each of the pages that are referenced starting with the one you provided above you end up at each of the pages that I refer to and they state that the petitioner provide a I-134 and I-864 and the co-sponsor (if you are electing to use one) fills out the I-864. The reason for the I-864 It is a legal contract between the petitioner (sponsor) of an immigrant visa applicant and the U.S. government.

Keep in mind that if you meet the income levels as laid out in the poverty guidelines HERE then you DO NOT NEED to submit either the I-134 or the I-864.

Thank you! :) Yes I want that issued status! My fiancé has been trying to convince me to get the flight but I keep procrastinating it, something I never thought I would do, but it would just be such a huge bummer if the visa issuing took longer than expected. We also have some bank holidays in Sweden this week which might make the issuing even slower.

Oh that's good to hear, there's definitely nothing strange going on with your case then :) Good luck on your medical and your interview!

Ohhh I really really hope it'll be issued this week!!

I'm done with my medical! Tomorrow I pick up the results, and just interview is left. So hard to believe the things are really happening!

The way I understand the instructions is you create a new ustraveldocs profile for the K-1 then attach the DS-160 to that visa.

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/do/do-niv-visaapply.asp

Thank you for the feedback. We attempted to create a new profile, but the system rejected it saying that the personal information was already in use by an existing profile. We ended up waiting until Monday morning China time so that my fiancée could call ustraveldocs to get help. After some time, they were able to get it sorted out.

Not for nothing, but these websites, official or not are hardly accurate. Anything mentioned regarding the interview process/NVC is not how the embassy in Morocco works - at all. They mention nothing about what we actually have to do. It says NVC will work with you to schedule an interview. Not really, you have to e-mail the consulate/embassy and request an interview with specifics. So if I didn't speak with a previous couple who went through the same process - I'd be sitting here with my thumb up my you know what. This process isn't cut and dry as you make it seem. While I appreciate your efforts - and ended up printing the I-864 anyway - the process just is what it is. and we are where we are and i fly out in 2 days so hopefully we have everything needed.

I don't disagree with you. It is a cluster xXxX. My information that I share to help people is information that errors on too much rather than not enough. I include links for reference points.
