Hi guys, trust we are all having a smootg process. I really wanna know the right answer to this question at the US embassy interview "" why do you want to get married in the US why not your country""

First time I heard that question asked. I'm not sure anyone can answer that question as it is personal. If you are looking for a bland answer you could answer that we heard that the K-1 was the faster visa then the CR-1 and we wanted to be together in the quickest way possible so the K-1 was decided upon.

Or, we have limited funds and doing a small wedding ceremony in the US seems appropriate for our situation. We may do something in her country at a later date.

I'm sure there is more but that's two that I can think of. What say you?

The I-134 requires the A number be added. As you probably already know but I will repeat for others the A Number is located at #8 under "Other Information".

This is a required field so she should enter her A number.

Part 1, question 8 is for the sponsor.

Part 2, question 4 is for the beneficiary.

As the sponsor, I don't have an A Number, but she does as the beneficiary (if the number above her name on the NOA2 is the assigned A Number for her).

She already has a printed, wet signed I-134.  Can she hand write the number in on that, or would it be a problem and I need to send a new one to her?

You need the NOA 2 with your case number or a copy of your interview confirmation.

Hi All, We are in the process of medical and interview appointment, but wondering what the next part of the process entails once we receive the visa. Is there a link to the next steps? I want to get ahead of the game. Trying to plan marriage and employment authorization as soon as we can.

I am trying to learn his language because once we start having babies they will not all be speaking a language I don't understand, I refuse :jest:

I feel the same way! Hahaha not in my own house, it will not go down like that!

Whats his language? I use the Pimsleur lessons and some random apps to learn Twi.

We got approved too! Or I don’t want to jinx it until the website is updated, but the lady said my interview ”obviously” went well. And that I would get my passport back in 10 working days.

I went straight back to work and my fiancé is not awake yet and I still can’t really believe it!

Congrats!!!!

by the way - small update regarding social security office!

i went there yesterday, due to traffic i was there 30 min there after they opened... i read it's best to go early when they open up, and

count about 1-2 hours just in case... i got my ticket and literally 10 min later they

called me up. i must say, i had a SSN before with a previous visa as i was an aupair in the US. so i told her that i used to have one,

but don't have it with me and don't recall the number, so she looked me up and had some security questions and it took her

another 10 min to update the paperwork and she said it'll be sent to me within 1-4 weeks :)

she also was able to give me the number already so i can open my bank account and stuff!

i also asked out of curiosity if it is a faster process cos i already had a SSN before,  or if it's the same to get a new one.

she said it's the same, the only thing is that a updated number may be sent out a bit faster.

@Swissmiss82

Quick question regarding this.  Did you do this before getting married or after?
