Guys, is there a problem if medical is done 1 month before interview? I already started my medical (went to the med appointment, did x-rays and all vaccinations) and just need to bring the results to the Dr. for him to proceed with it however I'm flying soon to spent 3 weeks with my fiance and was hoping for an early June Interview. Not so sure if having the medical done 1 month prior to the interview will jeopardize anything. Thanks for your inputs!

Not interviewwise.

The only thing you need to remember is if the medical is clean you’ll have 6 months from that to enter US (so AP etc if anything delays it it may affect things)

and if it is not clean and has sidenotes for example the term of medical shortens to 3 months.

I’m doing the same too by the way. (Or at least trying to if they can just give me the case number already!!!)

You might wanna call and talk to a Tear 2 person at the NVC office.

@Penny&Lee

unless they already received it there’s nothing NVC can do about it up to 6 weeks.

the person to talk to in NVC is a supervisor they don’t have the tier system.

if it is received and there’s no number then that can take up to 2 weeks after receiving the case at NVC. (Which if the case is in the electronic system can take even longer)

you can try waiting up to 4 weeks as noa2 says and then try calling uscis if NVC still says they did not received it.

just be careful with the timing.

i have a friend who also did the medical sooo early, and then when she moved, got married, filed for AOS, she had to do the medical again as it was only valid for 6 months!

Do not worry at all. You’ll get generic info from nvc and you will have case number and next steps really fast :)

That’s weird... cause I thought the validity for AOS changes automatically to 1 year

well she had to re-do as she did the medical in january (2 years ago), moved early april, got married july 4th, and didnt file until mid august

as their marriage licence didn't come in. on top, she's in wyoming so that closest office is barely filled and she didn't get her GC until april.

but she had to re-do the medical in december for sure, as she was so mad cos her and the baby had to do it :(

That is a very confusing time line. Seems she stretched all her time to complete documents with the allotted time. Medical validity for the visa interview is 6 months and starts with medical exam. Then the medical is good for AOS for up to one year. So you need to keep things rolling along to stay within that window. It can be done. Most will not have this kind of a problem as your example did.

Hey everyone,

Do we only do the DS-160 for k1 visa?

Your question is vague as you will need the DS-160 completed along with I-134 and all the other documents contained on your Embassy's checklist or sometimes called packet 3 (P3).

Question just in case my fiance is asked to provide proof we are getting married would a notarized letter from my pastor stating he will be giving us the pre marital course along with a copy of his certificate stating he is a qualified pastor be enough to show that?

Love knows no reason,no boundaries,no distance .It has a sole intention of bringing people together to a time called FOREVER!!!!!!!!

Hello there marchlings!

I'm requesting for some advice, and would love to hear your thoughts!

Summary: I have received my NVC case number last week. Our case's status is still at the "in transit" stage.

As of right now, I am waiting for the following documents:

- My fiancé's documents (expected to receive next week)

- My patient summary

Which isn't bad? But unfortunately, my GP is being a pain in the butt with the patient summary request... They assured me that I would be contacted within the week of my request, yet they haven't made a single attempt - it's now been 3 weeks! I've been contacting them, but it's just the usual "A doctor will contact you, blah blah" - yeah, my health centre is filled with grumpy slow cows.

Fortunately! I do plan to pay a visit to my doctor directly this week - hopefully they can give me some kind of update...

My question: Our case is currently "in transit", but I'm not sure whether I should take any action now (i.e. DS 160 form, medical exam, and etc.), or wait until I have that dumb document in my hand...

Any suggestions?
