Am I missing anything? Please let me know.

Do NOT print a picture of the wedding dress!!!!!! This has been done innocently and it went horribly wrong at the interview for others. The CO thought that they had already gotten married and declined the K-1 Visa. They tried to dispel that notion but the CO would not listen. Interview OVER. So don't show pictures of any wedding dresses or any pictures of a large family gatherings as it also can be misconstrued as a wedding celebration.  Just show pictures of the two of you together doing different things together and it helps to show pictures of you with her and her parents. Gives the notion that you met the parents and all is OK with them.

W2's are not needed as you have them in the 1040. Best thing to do and it only takes a few minutes of your time and that is request a tax transcripts is easier and the CO has seen plenty of them. Go here as you can get online and print right away.

Also if asked it's best to use an answer that "it is too difficult to plan anything with such short notice, but that we would be getting married within the 90 days".

There are a couple of entry's on the denial of a visa because of wedding ceremony and such.

For my medical it states "if you have any significant/ ongoing/ previous medical conditions please bring a report from your GP regarding this; including , medication, prognosis, management etc"

I had ACL reconstruction in my knee 3 years ago, got discharged straight away after physio same around 3 years ago and no problems since and no medication etc . Do I need to get this in a letter for my GP?

I think all of this really depends on the embassy. The embassy in Bucharest, Romania was fine with scanned wet signature for affidavit and new intent to marry (he signed the page and scanned it and i printed it out before the interview), but they wanted original/certified divorce decree. (He got it from the courthouse, it had an extra page attached to it declaring it is a 100% copy of the original one, or something similar. Can look up the wording if needed.)

At the embassy stage i was lucky there were people on this forum who had interviews in Bucharest and they were super helpful. Also with  all the info I got from them I just called the embassy and asked them (phone and email) again if it is ok or not and printed out the e-mail conversation just in case they change their minds :)))

I know it is hard. Try to compile a list of what you want to take and send them an e-mail and ask if it is ok to be a scanned copy, or if u need to translate anything from hungarian to english etc etc. (PM me and i will send the checklist i had for the interview)

Sorry, I couldn’t send them private :(

Hey guys,

This is regarding scheduling in Algeria.

I received my case number and the case is in transit. My fiancee already has a US travel docs account because she applied for a B2 visa before. Following the steps online, I get to this message:

Please confirm your IV Case ID to proceed with scheduling your appointment. Please ensure that you have been notified that your IV Case is ready for scheduling. If you receive an error message that your Case ID is not loaded, please be patient and try again at a later time.

I put my case number ALG2018.... and it let me through to the payment side.

Now it says my fiancee needs to pay at one of the Aramex stations and she can use the receipt number from that transaction to proceed with scheduling.

Will they let her pay before she receives the packet from the embassy? The drive is 6 hours for her. I don't want her to go on the trip for no reason. But I also don't want to let the closest interview dates slip by if I don't need to wait for the packet from the embassy.

Can anyone please confirm if its ok to go pay?

Thanks!

https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/request-a-transcript-or-copy-of-a-prior-year-tax-return

I do my own taxes so I already have copies of each year of my tax returns stored in my file cabinet so I'm not gonna request transcripts. My W2s are attached to the respective tax return because when I do my taxes I attach all relevant documents for that tax year together so all I have to do is pull it out of my file cabinet in my home office if and whenever I access to it. I'm only including my W2s for "just in case reasons" especially since I already have it all attached together (I'm partially OCD so I always keep all my paperwork in an organized manner or it will drive me crazy)!

This is the issue that threw me for a loop. The instructions are for transcripts. They even include a link to request your transcripts on the travel.state.gov website so I ended up getting those for the past 3 years instead of my returns. I know you wanted to be safe than sorry and you can literally just input your info online and print them free of charge. I think someone told me that the transcript means they've officially been filed whereas a return can be amended later on- etc.

Correct, that is the purpose of the transcript, however, on my filed tax return it has the word FILED stamped from top to bottom of the page and the first page of each tax return list the date of when I filed. You can only amend the current tax year but cannot amend previous tax years so my 2015-2016 cannot be altered. More importantly, I file my taxes as soon as I get my W2s because my taxes are simple and don't require a lot because I dont have a lot of exemptions. My source of income is derived from my employment and always has. I know what tax forms I'm expected to get each year so I know I never have to amend them. Truthfully, tax information is only something the embassy looks at to make sure a person is reporting their income to the government and not trying to hide how much they make which is why it's more of a requirement for someone who is self employed. I'm just being extra and making sure I leave no stone unturned.

Considering that I will be at the interview, in the last 2 1/2 years of our relationship, I've been to see my fiance a total of 10 times (10th trip is the one next week I'm leaving for to attend the interview), my employment letter showing I exceed poverty levels and my paystubs, I doubt they'll even look at my tax information because I clearly have the financial means to sponsor my fiance. At the Jamaica Embassy, they only scruntize more when the USC is not present and they feel the relationship warrants more proof.  Our relationship doesn't fall in that parameter.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying it to be negative about your proof, at all.

For me, the whole transcript vs return through ME for a loop so I ended up doing both. I file my own as well via TurboTax. (Best thing ever!) But I know you wanted to be extra so figured I'd let you know that printing the transcript is about a 10 minute process. I'm sure you'll be fine either way. :)

I THINK, the only people who are asked for anything extra are those the CO is doubting. I just got an e-mail that they moved our interview from 1 PM up to 9:30 AM. I'm hoping that means the earlier the better.

Thanks for the feedback, I knew you weren't being negative about it. It's just for the JA Embassy, you can bring either or, but most times they don't look at the financial docs unless they have a concerning reason to do so (this is just based on my research of the consulate and member reviews I've read on here).

That's awesome that they pushed you up earlier in the day. This way you can get it over with and not be a ball of nerves all day! :)
