We are also UK beneficiary. You might be able to squeeze it in but I’m thinking you might want to wait till you book your interview before making firm plans- we were in transit for 2 weeks which surprised me. . We have a May 3rd interview and are planning a June 1st POE. That’s definitely giving us time to spare I know but we have an August 1st wedding date so don’t want to come in too early so we are rushed at the other end with AOS!

Did you discover any reason why your case was in transit for so long? It seems like most people on here only take 3 days.

Mine has been a week now! Maybe the London embassy only accepts cases in batches or something?

Hahaha omg I'm like one of the only people out of all of my friends that can't stand sushi.. I'm big on texture and I'm like no I just can't. Lol

morocco has some of the best meals too! I was surprised I lost so much weight. I literally got rid of all of my clothes from last year because I was swimming in them! So far the only international food I absolutely can't stand was in spain. Too much ham included in everything. Literally. I was eating Burger King my entire trip because I couldn't find something without ham!!! (At least in Barcelona!) like a hamburger was literally a ham-burger ... I'm like what!

I forgot ,are you still waiting for a date to open up?

Haha!  Yeah I mentioned raw fish to Kofi and he was horrified, so I don't think we'll have too many sushi dates.  Ham-burger

We loved all the food in UAE - I would love to go to Morocco and try!  It's crazy how that happens - I think it's all the fresh, real food, no preservatives.  Yes, we are still (im)patiently waiting for a time to open up.  At least, some other couples have experienced the same thing so we know it's not just us - the embassy is backed up.  My theory is that people are trying to come for the summer holidays?  Who knows.  So we're checking, all day every day, and I'm resisting the urge (for now) to plan another visit while we wait.  Lord knows we need to save money!

No idea why it took so long! Just was what it was; another way to test my patience and the strength of our relationship!

So medical completed today! Stuart said it was a “surprisingly pleasant experience” 🤣🤣🤣 Turns our the Dr comes from the town next to his Wales so they had a good old chat. 2 weeks today till the interview. Really feel like we could be in the home straight now ( touch wood!)

Tell me about it. I save and then suddenly need to spend. I think the part I'm most nervous for my fiancé to get used to is how expensive it is here. I think you could live off like 1,000$ a month in Morocco. And not in a slum! His brother has a 2 bed room for 250$ a month ... I told Youssef yeah add another zero to that for a 2 bedroom here :D it's just extremely hard to save here in New York. We most likely will move to Florida where my dad is because it's just becoming too frustrating to keep shelling out 3000+ a month just to exist lol

keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

I was born in NYC so I totally understand what you mean by the cost of living. Hence why I've been living in Delaware since 2006; although DE seems to be catching to NYC prices all of a sudden.

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

I'm in NYC too and yes it is super expensive but I would miss my city (as I call it) too much if I move.

Thank you,  I'm over the moon.  Next week this time is will be just hours before he's here.

I will definitely go well your you.   Did you elect for then to send his passport back to you or pick it up at DHL?

We selected to pick it up at the DHL in MoBay. He lives in Lucea so it would make it difficult to deliver it to his house. But I'm hoping they will let us come back to Kingston to pick it up since I'm attending the interview. Hopefully, they might extend the courtesy on expediting his packet so we can fly back home early. I've read that they have done that before but it depends on the medical being at the embassy and of course the embassy officer.
