A tiny update:

Had my interview on Monday, it went fine. Most of the questions were about the history of the relationship (we have a significant age gap), if we have met each others family, what languages we speak, how we communicate. Otherwise it was the standard interview. The consul lady was very nice and professional.

 

One important thing was they are really picky about the 5x5 pictures you bring. I had the correct size, the correct  face/body ratio everything by the book. Turns out it was not that sharp at one place, but you really need to look, or I just dont see that well (lol) ( maybe after the resize it went blurry a bit, or at printing). The lady who took the documents finally said she will take the picture, but make a new set of pics for AOS.

turns out that our embassy doesn't allow online scheduling and when you get packet 3, and you return the files they require,

they will send you the interview date. so when i returned the data, i also informed them that i just finished the medical (tuesday) and they

confirmed to have my documents by friday! so they offered me a friday afternoon appointment

 

luckily, the postal service confirmed a delivery today from the doc's office so i'll have that when I go to the embassy.

they never send it directly to the embassy here...

so tomorrow is my interview, tuesday i can pick up the passport, and

the following monday - so today in 10 days - I WILL FLY OUT!!! we found a suuuuper cheap flight (cheaper than

what we booked in the past 2.5 years) anddddd didn't want to risk a price change so here we are  

ready for our forever to start!!!

This is totally weird..i kNow 1 applicant/beneficiary that upon the date changed to a later date he received the packet3 in his email. But for my case there’s none. Anyone who experienced the same?

Hi all! 

 

For any fellow Brits, got our case number yesterday, literally just called up and booked my medical for the 14th may. So not too far away! Phone call went straight through! 

 

Its now becoming a reality!

and gosh i love my country! 2 days ago i had my medical, today i received the envelope from the doc's to bring to the embassy and

tomorrow morning i'll be heading to Bern!  

 

PS: already went to de-register at our local county office and did all paperwork i have to do here bam bam bam!

Ugh! Only God knows when US embassy UAE will start sending packet 3s. We have quite a few K1 people also waiting for them to start moving. I'm starting to get antsy but I can still keep my cool and be calm. LoL! I wish they're as fast as your embassy.  I'm excited for your interview! You can do it, my dear!

I’m still trying to figure out what Atti needs to bring to embassy for interview. There was really no instructions for that so I have asked him to reach out to them. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew if we need to have original previous divorce documents for the interview. Or can we just bring in copies? Anyone who has had any experience with divorce documents at interview please help.

Okay guys....MEDICAL EXAM COMPLETED AND CHECKED OFF THE LIST!!!!!

 

Reni said his overall experience was easy but that it was a long day. His appointment was scheduled for 8am but due to Kingston traffic he showed up at 9-9:15am (10-10:15 EST). He said that the people were nice and that the doctor who went over his medical history form didn't not persist with on asking him repeatedly about drug/alcohol/marijuana usage. He asked once for each question and he said no each time, so I guess he got the "good doctor" who was scheduled for yesterday's roll call...lol.

 

They did the normal blood work, urine test and chest x-rays. The did not give him his chest x-rays like they have in the past - the nurse told him that they will forward everything to the Embassy.He said he only needed 2 vaccines which only cost him $7000JMD which is approximately $58.00USD. His total amount he paid was $30320JMD (which is the medical exam fee and the 2 vaccines), which is approximately $245.00USD, which is AWESOME because of course we expected and were prepared to pay more. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND going to your local doctor or clinic and getting the required vaccines prior to the medical because it is cheaper to do. I had Reni do this 3-5 months ago so the fact he only needed 2 vaccines is GREAT! The nurse provided his DS-3025 without him even having to ask for it and she was kind enough to explain to him the purpose of this form. The nurse was kind of enough to tell him that his medical exam will be there in time for his interview (I don't know if she was just being nice or she is the one that will personally handle preparing his medical form packet to send it to the Embassy considering the Embassy is a couple blocks away from the Hospital but hopefully it will be there before the interview). He completed his medical exam at 2:30pm (3:30 EST).

 

So our "Grand Finale" is next Friday (April 27th) and Reni and I are on an official countdown to hearing those beautiful words that we have dreamt about since May 23, 2017!!!! I will be flying on Wednesday to be with him and attend his interview!!!!

for my fiancé he needed court records, police records, birth cert and letter that he's legally single, since they're all in French or Arabic, he has to translate anything non English to English. Plus don't forget the appointment letter. Make a check list and pretend you're Santa clause , check it twice.

I think all of this really depends on the embassy. The embassy in Bucharest, Romania was fine with scanned wet signature for affidavit and new intent to marry (he signed the page and scanned it and i printed it out before the interview), but they wanted original/certified divorce decree. (He got it from the courthouse, it had an extra page attached to it declaring it is a 100% copy of the original one, or something similar. Can look up the wording if needed.)

 

At the embassy stage i was lucky there were people on this forum who had interviews in Bucharest and they were super helpful. Also with  all the info I got from them I just called the embassy and asked them (phone and email) again if it is ok or not and printed out the e-mail conversation just in case they change their minds :)))

 

I know it is hard. Try to compile a list of what you want to take and send them an e-mail and ask if it is ok to be a scanned copy, or if u need to translate anything from hungarian to english etc etc. (PM me and i will send the checklist i had for the interview)

i booked my flight to head over to Morocco for my fiancé's interview. Pretty nervous and excited. He has his medical May 7, interview May 15 and I'm flying in the 11th, inshallah. 

 

For now im doing my laundry and eating a bagel. For those who are coming to New York prepare to get fat. After losing 40 lbs in Morocco from being there for 6 months, I've officially gained half back! Pizza and bagels pizza and bagels. I just can't. I need to live in a state with terrible water so I avoid bread

Omg, hahaha I miss NJ pizza and bagels so much!  I stay away from that kinda stuff in California, but then we have sushi and burritos and ramen hahaha.  Glad things are all lined up for next month!  We'll be thinking of you guys!
