I’m in the exact same situation haha. He insisted on the 30 days. Let me know if you figure out a good way to convince yours it’s a good idea to call earlier than that 😄

Nah I am sure he will call without any "tactics" if I ask him again. He called once USCIS, didn't give me details, but he said he will never going to call them again. So I assume they were rude or something. I will give a try this Friday just see if they provide the info to me and depending what they say on the phone might ask him to call again a week later or something.  I am not in a hurry, so I could wait the 30 days out easily, but would like see when I could schedule the medical because I need to make travel arrangements for that. Also summer is coming up maybe the embassy will be full with ppl applying for travel visas, etc. Also the plane tickets are getting expensive day by day, so when approved I would like to get the ticket asap even if I wont move right away after approval.

Welcome!   This is actually an interesting thread since there are May to September filers who all received NOA2s in March.  A 5 month span.  Boy USCIS was messed up.

It's time for us to start moving over to this thread, Colleen and I got our NOA2 15 March, 7 Days after yours even though we filed 100 days later,  that just shows the mess the USCIS were / are in! (sorry to bring up the nightmare)

John, how are you doing with getting Rose and the Kids here?

The funny thing about the wait...once we got NOA2 we started completely over.  I don't care that is was 280 days at USCIS.  All I care about now is NVC!  I will start calling this week as we will be 2 week from NOA2.  I sure hope this goes faster but right now we still have no idea when we could guess at POE.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

My slight worry is another Government shut down, a few days wouldn't be the end of the world, but after the wait for the NOA2 another forced delay would be too much, oddly enough since we got our NOA2 I have relaxed a bit and am happy to go a little slower, I am aiming for my medical in April, interview mid / late May and maybe the visa in my passport early June and I aim for POA mid /late July.... well that's the plan

USCIS, NVC and even the COs are all fee based so a short shutdown should not hurt at all.  If it get to be longer then the ancillary services may be impacted.  The COs may work but what about the rest of the Embassy workers?  Mail delivery and those things may be impacted with a long outage but a short one should feel almost no impacts.

Happy Spring  my NVCUTIES.  So my apologies for telling you all that it was clear blue skies in the North east all week and now another double whammy of a nor easter has hit. I'm currently watching the snow falling again and dreaming of a summer wedding as where I teach they called an early dismissal due to the storm  If its any consolation though these New Hampshire folks are pretty well prepared for snow storms so Im thinking it shouldn't impact the NVC too much.

Ho, I didn't know the NVC was fee based as well as the USCIS, and as far as I read the embassies are funded on a 5 (?) year cycle. but it is good to get your take on the situation, it's just our luck that there is so much political turmoil just at the moment

I just attempted my first call to NVC but i'm not sure which option I should be...

option 3? (verify that we have received your mail)

option 5? (required to submit through CEAC)

option 7? (all other questions)

Use option 7 unless they tell you to use option 5. :)

I just called NVC and according to them, they received our case on the 16th of March. The guy said they still have to enter our case in the system so no case number yet. I'm gonna call them again after 2 days. 😋😋😋

They received my case on the same day, and I also called and no number, will call again tomorrow too :jest:
