We received our noa2 on the same date as well. We will call again by monday too and yes fingers crossed for that! Hoping that we’ll receive the good news next week.

We also received our NOA2 on the same date and will be calling again on Monday. It seems like there are quite  a number of us in the same boat.  Hoping for good news for all of us next week. :D

Does anyone know if we can obtain license and drive once we enter US on K-1 visa? How in the world would we travel if our fiancé is not there and besides taking public bus each time?

Check with the requirements for the DMV in the state you will live in. If your profile is correct it going to be TX. https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/ApplyforLicense.htm  Gawd I love Google. It always seems to answer my questions.

Hi,

Could someone please provide guidance on this question - "Have you belonged to, contributed to, or worked for any professional, social or charitable organization?" I have volunteered with multiple organizations in my free time over the years, do I need to list them out?

Thanks!

hi all!

just wondering what the actual process is of the NVC receiving our case after NOA2?

it's officially been 2 weeks since we got our NOA2 (30th march), and my fiancé called to ask and see if there was a case number for us yet.

the lady asked if we have received 2 letters yet or 1? and she told us that we're expecting to be waiting 6 weeks until they receive our case from USCIS... [letter states anywhere between 2-4 weeks..] we were very confused.. are we to be notified by mail when we get our case #? how does that work? and does anyone have any idea currently how long it takes from NOA2 approval - receiving case # - "ready" status?

sorry for all the questions, just a tad overwhelmed and confused haha

I'd advise you to read back a few pages and see what others are going through to get an idea on how many people are still waiting.

there is no official information other than it can take up to 8 weeks to receive and I think up to 6 for a case number. (Or vice versa so don't quote me.)

It took my case about 2 weeks to get to NVC. 4 working days "at NVC" and in transit / ready on the 5th working day. Others have taken much longer, and others have gotten everything the same day their case was received. One guy did tell me they're behind again because uscis caught up and dumped it at the NVC. There's only one NVC. Just be patient. We literally have all been there or are still there.

Great answer! The information is here (and you h&e were the ones to point that out ) as this subject has been bantered about for the past two weeks. I'm always puzzled why people don't read the thread as there is a wealth of information shared amongst the group. ;)

Appreciate the detailed response - thank you!

my main confusion & concern was the part where I mentioned the lady my fiancé spoke to on the phone saying we’re waiting for an additional letter? I don’t know what that means. As I stated in my post; we only have received 1. (NOA2) and she gave us no additional info as to what we’re actually meant to be expecting in the post? (A letter stating our case has gotten to the NVC, our case number, or are we actually supposed to have a second letter?) I’m reading that people are getting emails - no second letters. So I’m extremely confused.

Because everyone’s situations are different and I don’t have the time to go through 126 pages lol.

There is no second letter. The only thing I can deduce from what she is referring to is that you need to wait for the Packet 3 letter which contains instructions of what you must do to prepare for your interview in London.  There is a wealth of information in the sub-forum for the UK located here on VJ http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/  The letter is outlined in many posts.

Hi,

someone please help me with this question on the DS-160. For someone who has a Master's degree in Biology, should the answer be yes?

I don't think they're referring to your Biology degree. I think it's pretty much a question to see if you have experience in something that could harm people in the USA. That's how I took the question.  If you select yes, does it give you an option to explain? Maybe you can explain you have a degree in biology and the question was confusing.

Thank you for answering. If you answer yes there's a box that appears for more explanation.  But I think I might just select NO as I don't want them to think that I have skills to build some biological weapons lol. Better safe than sorry!

Hey marchies!! Long time since last time I came here, very long intense week with our changing status, completing ds-160, my birthday... Crazy days!!

We got our case number on April 10th, it changed right away to in transit and it took until April 13th to be ready (great birthday gift :jest:). We were able to upload the ds160 form before the ready status and schedule our interview, unfortunately the first date available is May 30th. Any other brazilians in the same day?? I'll be there at 8am  calmly waiting.

The bummer part is we filled the Ds160 with one problem, I understood that I just needed to put my education from high school, that means when you are around 14 years old, but in the instructions in the website it says from 11 years old. We read that so many times and I don't know how this escaped us, anyone knows how can we fix this?

So many good news around here

Hate to be a killjoy but when they see you have a degree in biology and you answered the question with "No" then that would be suspect as to why you answered no and may lead to disqualification. As it goes with saying, tell the truth. Trust me, you are not dealing a bunch of yahoo's that don't know what they are doing. They have many years of experience and can spot a potential problem lightning fast. Your call.

You can redo the DS-160 and save and submit but print off the receipt with that bar code and bring to the interview and forget all about the other one with the mistake. At the interview the CO will ask for your DS-160 receipt and you will give them the updated receipt. Many have made a mistake and were able to pass with using my example of what to do.

Where do they ask you that? I checked the "Work/Education/Training" part in my DS-160, but I have only filled out where I am currently employed and I can't recall that they asked me about my education (other than if I'm attending school at the moment, which I am not)

Just after employment questions it has a question "have you attended any institutions at a secondary level or above?" When you choose yes it opens a hold part of questions regarding to this. In the instructions in right side of says about high school, but in the embassy website it says from 11 years on. You're didn't show you this question?
