I hope you guys can! Are you still at NVC

Its so close! I honestly cannot wait to pick him up at the airport by the time he lands it’ll be 8 months or so since we last saw each other :( but it’s so exciting to finally see the end of this process haha

Really??? That’s insane! I wonder why the have so few spots..

 Did you schedule yours yet?

Yes we’re still at NVC hoping that changes today or tomorrow :( I’m getting anxious. I want to schedule the interview lol. I know I can’t wait for the day he is here for good. Wow eight months, I give you so much credit that is tough. Luckily my fiancés dad works for British airways so he is able to get cheap flights. It’s been about two months for us. No one outside of this process understands the struggle. Glad things are finally moving though!

Each Embassy is different. Most applicants find ways around different "roadblocks" in getting through to their interview. Call the medical people and ask what it is they exactly need to complete the Medical. Some Med Ctr will except a screen shot of your appointment confirmation others will take the confirmation page of the DS-160 and some require something else entirely. I have given some links and suggestions to look for further information and how to contact others who have proceeded before for help in a number of previous posts. I believe I even specifically talked about India.

Look, you can sit and wait for something to happen  or you can be proactive and get control of you situation and get it done. Be creative. Think outside the box. Use Google. Communicate, Communicate and Communicate some more with others that can help.

If you have questions I'll try and help you the best I can.

Everyone is saying that they need a letter from embassy to schedule anything. This sucks cuz God knows I can’t do anything without it and how long does it take for me to receive packet 4. I’ve been doing research and asking around. I’m not getting any responses but from you and I don’t have much fellow countrymen helping either and for my country it’s all outdated info so I guess idk what to do. I almost wanna go ahead fill forms atleast

@ash1234 how long did it take for you guys to receive packet 4 from Mumbai consulate? Did you guys wait to receive letter from embassy to book medical or PCC or did you just went ahead without letter? I called up consulate and they said to wait for anything before letter arrives even tho I know what the steps are. Please let me know what did you guys do?

We still haven't received the packet 4. I requested it through email, so I haven't heard anything back. I completed the DS 160 form and did the payment. Scheduled the biometrics and interview a few days ago.

You can do the PCC now, it has a 12 month validity.

@ash1234 when was your case ready? I’m wondering how long it has been since you’re waiting for that packet?

Also, were you able to get PCC without embassy letter? Cuz it says on PCC where I have to get it to attach embassy letter? And what about your medical?

Gosh I think this packet 4 from Mumbai will take longer than nvc or uscis 😂

Can your fiancés dad cut us a deal too on BA? 😂 you won’t believe but I’m actually browsing tickets on British airways on a different tab right this second.

this process has me open 10 tabs at the same time. The last time I did this was during research for my thesis 😂

Sure, here’s what I wrote without names and numbers:

to immigrationrio@state.gov

“Dear US Consulate

I have had my fiancé visa approved and NVC sent to you under the case number RDJxxxxx, my name is Marina Xxxx and my fiancé is Bradley Xx. .

I am not able to schedule my interview online and I am in a hurry since I have been waiting since July 24th 2017, my NOA1 date. I currently have no place to live in Brazil, since my lease ended and I could not renew it due to my Immigration process. Could you please allow me to schedule my interview?”

Many thanks 🙏

@Greenbaum help!!! My case is ready and I called up consulate to know what my next steps are even though I know them cuz of their website and other sources including you. But now the consulate is saying to wait until I receive the packet to proceed further with any steps. Is this a standard response is that really a case? Also, the medical people say I need a letter and PCC say that they need a letter too. Why does these steps have to suck so bad in my country cuz I know most of the people here on forum already filled DS-160 and scheduled interview without waiting for package. Does this mean the medics and PCC in their country didn’t care about letter from embassy?

@Swissmiss82 @h&y heartiest congratulations for the next steps!!! 👯‍♂️👯‍♂️

Hey i dont think you need to wait to get the packet..i know few ppl from India who carried on with booking the interview date and medical the moment it said ready. I would say you go ahead and book the interview date since getting a good date for Mumbai embassy is always a big problem.

As for medical you just need to show them the interview confirmation date and for PCC you can just show them the NOA2.

I showed the NOA2 and got my PCC few days back.

Haven't gotten the PCC yet, but the confirmation for the visa interview states that a PCC is needed, same for the medical. So we will just be using the confirmation instead of the packet.

My case was ready 4/2/18.

Hey, thanks for your response. This helps. I might get my PCC. For medical I have to travel to Mumbai. Do you know if medical can be done long time before interview or is there a time limit to it too that if needs to be done few days before interview?

I actually called up Rele clinic in Mumbai just today to ask the same. They told me medical can be done 10 to 15 days before the interview.

and btw why are you travelling to Mumbai for medical? did you check the list of hospital to see if anything else is near to you? where do you live?
