Ugh, committed a rookie mistake and listed "nonimmigrant visa", duh! Good news is we went from In Transit to Ready today! I can't believe it was that quick, we only got our NOA2 on March 22!

Ha Ha great and I'm glad you got it figured out. Mine was in transit one day and the next was ready. It goes quick from here on out, in fact too quick. We could have booked interview for Friday if we wanted, but we were just not ready. We will probably book interview 1st week of May since I just came back from there and I need to take care of some things here.

I'm sure you guys will be ultra prepared!! First week of May is coming up soon... the idea of fiance coming and final exams makes my brain melt a bit but I don't know if we could be as patient as you both!!

Unfortunately he does.. he’s traveling from South Wales so it’s about a 6 hour trip, we’re planning on him staying overnight for both the medical and interview  

 

not yet, my case is still “in transit” so once it says ready I’ll be able to schedule! Keep me posted on yours! I’m curious to see what dates are available

I think what helps our patience is knowing we have control over the process from here on out, unlike the last 8-9 months.

I'm doing much better of course. It's crazy how I went from waiting 300 days for a NOA2 and Reni's interview is in 2 weeks....2 WEEKSSSSS!!!! In a matter of 2 weeks from getting our NOA2, we went from NVC to Embassy (less than 2 weeks if you take the weekend days out). Next Wednesday, Reni has his medical exam and I'm flying out the following Wednesday so I can attend his interview on the 27th. I'm gonna stay at least until May 6th which hopefully he gets his visa and brown envelope before then, but if I have to extend my stay a little longer so we can fly back together I will. So right now, I'm just putting our binder together will dividers with all our documents and additional copies. Already typed out our checklist so I know I don't leave out anything, but really, this part of the process we have been prepared for a while now. Financial documents are at the touch of button.

 

Not gonna lie....I'M SUPER DUPER EXCITED and nervous at the same time! Kinda like when you got your NOA2 and said that it hit you that it's really happening??? Well, I've been having those moments more frequently as the day gets closer. I can't believe it's almost time!

No kidding.  We got so used to waiting that we weren't sure what to do when we moved forward.  Once the original shock wore off, we both kicked some butt and got this moving.  Excited, nervous...those are perfect words to use.  Big changes in store for all of us.  That is scary but it is also what we have been wishing and fighting for.  I know about that checklist!  I have one of my own.  I don't want to be missing a single file.  I would rather bring a truckload too much than 1 file too few...

Yippeeee!!!!! I like the idea of our visa’s holding hands and going off in transit together in an excited sort of way!!! And then waving as mine goes off to London and yours to, wait! where is your consulate?? Zurich??? Anyway we can cross the finish line together!!!

BTW I’m a little giddy as my mama just opened her eyes for the first time!!!

Hey guys, just wanted some advice on what I should prepare. Online approval for NOA2 said March 29th but physical said 28th. I am still waiting on NVC to receive my approved case. My fiancee is in Algeria (embassy in Algiers, Algeria).

 

- Can I expedite the NVC process after it has been received?

 

We checked their website -  https://dz.usembassy.gov/

My fiancee needed to get 15 vaccinations (10 of 15 already done), 2 need to be done in Algiers but she lives far away.

- Is it possible to do them during the medical check so she can save a trip?

- Why does the interview need to be two weeks after, can we schedule before?

 

They say she needs to pay for the interview at an Aramex office (all far) and that's where she will have to pick up her passport about 10 days after the visa is approved.

- The office is in Algiers, is there anyway she can just pick it up sooner at the embassy?

- Would it help if I flew out to be with her during the interview? I can't stay longer than a week and would want her to come back with me so the 10 days would be a real issue.

- Would it help if I booked her flight before the interview so they know she is planning to travel 2 weeks or so after approval?

 

I have filled out the DS-160 and I-134 (neither submitted yet)

- When should I have my fiancee submit the DS-160?

- I am salaried at around 50K but I started working in July of 2017 (when I graduated), will the amount of time I have been working be an issue? Should I get a sponsor?

- Can I send my fiancee a copy of the signed form as the mail system over there is unreliable?

 

- What should I provide a copy of?

- What should I mail her the original of?

- What else do we need?

 

Sorry if this is too many questions. I know some of the answers, just want to double check.

So anyone else been contacted by the casting director for “90 day fiancé” ??? Oh my god Stuart and I laughed SO hard and believe me there hasn’t been much laughter the last few days so some light relief was good. I can’t imagine that we would be anywhere near exciting enough for them to really want to cast us  so might just pass on my 5 minutes of fame and settle for a quiet married life instead  🤣🤣🤣

How is it that we waited 200 days for our NOA2 and it has only been 16 days and I'm already losing my patience for NVC to receive our case.

I would like to ask, if you receive the NVC letter thru mail or email? My fiance called NVC and they gave him the MNL number, I already paid the visa fee, medical will be next week and interview will be on april 23. I read that there is an nvc letter but he hasn’t received it yet.

Medical exam scheduled for April 20th. It was like pulling teeth I wish i could be there to help my poor fiance. His medical is in the neighboring country as will be his interview. So the receptionist tried to tell him to call back when he is in the country LIKE NOOO!! WE NEED AN APPOINTMENT NOWWW!! WE HAVE WAITED 7 MONTHS FOR THIS. But my fiance isn't like me and he hung up and accepted it I made him call back and be assertive now we have an appointment

If you are still waiting for your NVC# I can tell you we waited 31 days from NOA2 and still survived The best thing you can do right now is prepare your paperwork for the interview.
