Thanks for sharing this info... I never even thought about this part 🤦🏼‍♀️.

I realize it is minor is comparison to the rest of this entire process but it does matter. 3-5 months (or more!) of being financially dependent on a spouse can have a negative effect on a relationship. I believe in an equal partnership and this will be challenging.

It'll be worth it in the end but my point is that I feel like I keep thinking things are progressing and then I find out that there is just another waiting process to look forward to.

I'm sorry to be a downer. I just want to start my life with this person and there are so many hoops to jump through. This is not an easy thing for any relationship to be tested by.

Yeah, by all means it is a logical thought. It’s nice and all to live out of the fairy tale but reality is such, at least in my case, I’m not rich! I am able to provide for me and my kids but I work very hard to do so. I believe in equal partnership but I also know that not having the extra income will pose some unnecessary burden on this new relationship. I don’t see it as being a downer but more like being objective. Atti is bringing some of his work home to USA which is great, but what he makes in Hungary is not comparable to what he could be making here, should he be employed immediately. Well, all we can do is our best. But I completely agree with you, if it’s not one thing it’s the other with this process.

Thank you! :) The whole process only took me for 2.5 hours, it was very quick. I went to the 3 different consuls. The first one was a filipina who asked my personal documents like Birth Cert., NBI, CENOMAR, MRV slip, and the passport. And she asked me some personal things as well like my birthday, name, email, phone number and also the dates when we met and got engage. Then i was asked to go to the next window for finger scanning with an American consul. And the last step was the final interview with another american consul. First, I was asked to raise my right hand for the oath taking.

And then following questions were asked are:

  • How we met
  • Who are our mutual friends
  • When was the last time we met
  • How do we communicate
  • Where does he live
  • If my fiance ever had kids or divorced/ do i have kids or been married before

Then thats pretty much it tho. The consul gave me 3 pieces of papers and I was told I've got approved. :)

Congratulations! 🎉😃

I know right - one less thing to worry about. So my mama is still unconscious ( she is a heavy sleeper bless her) Some other complications have come up but she has also jumped some pretty major hurdles and she really is in the very best hands. The neuro icu drs and nurses are SO lovely. We have been playing her music, sitting and holding her hand, ticking her feet ( she hates having her feet touched usually) sometimes I just sit and knit and chat to her about visa stuff or what I’m going to make my dad for dinner.  Today we are just hoping she wakes up.

Usually how long does it take for the NVC to send the case to embassy after assigning the case number?

My case number was assigned on 5/4/2018 and it still shows that the case is at the NVC:wacko:

I called this morning at around 630am so 1130 in the UK because my fiancé was in work. The woman I spoke to said there was an appt for 04/25 at 1:30 but that was too soon for us so we scheduled for 04/30.

I’m surprised that the earliest date they had 😱 could they possibly change it to sooner if someone cancels?

Thanks for your info! Made him call back today and we got May 1st!

I was told it can take weeks for the Casablanca consulate to e-mail us back with an interview date. I woke up this morning, 6 AM sharp, saw that we were "READY" and immediately sent an e-mail to the Consulate requesting an interview. It's not even 7 AM here and I get an e-mail back stating he has been scheduled for an interview May 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this real life? How do we go from waiting for monthsssssssssssssssss, just to have the entire rest of the way done in less than one month? Baffled.

To those of you still waiting, please I don't say stop complaining to be mean but I converted to muslim almost a year ago now and a big part of the religion is patience. Complaining gets you no where. I'm not saying convert but I'm saying, everything happens when you aren't paying attention. I personally made it a mission to call NVC to find out more information and after 25 or so calls, I was told something interesting which I mentioned last night. That all cases come in, get a case number and those who are in transit right away don't need anything double checked for accuracy. All others get sent to AP and that's not always a bad thing. They're just confirming they have everything to send over to the embassy. When I was told that my case just "left AP and was in the scanning area", all that I could picture was yellow minions to make myself laugh. That there's some sort of conveyor belt with stacks of applications on it awaiting to be scanned. next thing you know, I'm scanned, in transit and ready. Don't lose hope. and Don't always follow what others are saying on here, some are real downers but you're doing this process for a reason right? that reason is your fiance so hang in there and whoever makes it to the north east region, preferably New York where I am, I'll treat to my favorite place Mamoun's :jest::D Good luck everyone! my nerves will rest for now and pick back up when he goes for his medical/interview :jest:

Yay!!!!! I’m so happy for you !!! :D

Hello! - I have been following a couple threads for months now and this is my first time posting.

I received our case # today from the NVC and hopefully it will be sent to the London embassy soon.

What really got me down today is realizing that my fiance won't be able to work legally in the US upon entry for 3-5 months after submitting the I-765. I totally understand that a part of this process is to prove I can support him financially but I can't believe I missed this detail until now. I can do this but I must say, they really make this whole process nearly impossible, don't they?

Pouring a glass of wine now and hoping this will all be over one day....

Tho to you, you think this process is "impossible" but it really isn't and I dare say when you finish and he is in the USA you'll look back and say all this for a 5 minuet interview. :D  But let me tell you that their are others out there that are facing bigger challenges then you in this process. Case in point. A Filipino lady does all the right things, goes through her interview and gets approved. Receives her passport with visa inside and she is now ready to go live in the USA. BUT her fiance doesn't have the money to buy the ticket. So they decided to cancel the visa so she is free and clear to apply once again when either she kicks is A$$ out the door or he decides to "man up" and take responsibility. My words not hers. Either way if it were me I would use the first option.

Keep a stiff upper lip and keep plowing forward. You will get through this. Remember he who finishes gets the PRIZE. Let it be you guys.
