Well I called again. This rep told me my file was sent to AP and just left this afternoon (out of AP) and is in the scanning area , awaiting to be scanned and sent electronically to be sent off lol the more you call, the more you find out.

I think everyone who didn't get an instant in transit is sent to AP for an additional check. And I guess based on what's missing or needing review will depend on how fast it'll come out of AP

Hahah it’s like magic, each person gives you slightly more (or less) info than the last

At least it’s out of AP and being sent off !

No. That is common verbiage.
Check with the forum from your country and know what to expect once your case is "ready." For some countries you do everything from here on out. Others, they do it for you.

Thank you! I called the NVC and they told me that they sent it out yesterday and to wait for more information coming from the NVC. Thank you!

It is hit or miss if they ask for it.  Worse case scenario will be a 221 where they ask for the file.  Not a deal breaker at all.  Try to get a scanned copy and make sure a wet signature copy is on its way (if they ask).

Good luck with the interview.  Let us know how it goes.  Ours is next Tuesday.

ALREADY!! GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR INTERVIEW @John & Rose

Hey guys, I have a question or 2.

Our NVC case says ready, we went ahead and scheduled our interview and paid our fees already, and she's completed the DS160 but we haven't seen anything about a packet 3 or 4 yet. Is this usual? Did we mess up?

I've already booked flights to be at Interview with her, but we're scared to death we've jumped the gun.

I can try and help but no where have you listed your country. You need to change that in your profile. Let me know what country and I'll see what I can do.

Go to the top right of this page select your name>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Does anyone knows whAt the logic behind this waiting? Why some cases are received and get the case number at the same day and others can be waiting for days? It's related to the embassy?

I don't really get it, this process is very frustrating :girlwerewolf2xn:

First thing you should do is stop trying to figure this process out. :bonk: There isn't anyone that can tell you with any certainty what is going on. Take a big deep breath and exhale. There you should feel better now. ;)

I can't verify if the Manilla embassy will ask for it, but I I thought the standard is that all embassies need an Affidavit of support- whether the signature is wet or scanned depends on embassy. It is always better to be safe than sorry. So I'll probably see if he can send it to you via e-mail and you print it. It will be a scanned signature but that's probably better than not going with an affidavit at all in case they do ask for it.

USEM hasn't asked for the financials for about 2 years now but they do say that can if they need the information to adjudicate your case. Two things can happen you will be given a RFE where you will submit the information delaying your case for about 2 additional weeks or they won't ask and you dodged a bullet. Good luck.

I called this morning at around 630am so 1130 in the UK because my fiancé was in work. The woman I spoke to said there was an appt for 04/25 at 1:30 but that was too soon for us so we scheduled for 04/30.

I’m surprised that the earliest date they had 😱 could they possibly change it to sooner if someone cancels?

You can change it but only two times. After that you will have to wait 90 days and pay another interview fee and hopefully your medical is still current if not you will need to repeat it. $$$$$$$ Think twice before pushing the cancel button.

Hello! - I have been following a couple threads for months now and this is my first time posting.

I received our case # today from the NVC and hopefully it will be sent to the London embassy soon.

What really got me down today is realizing that my fiance won't be able to work legally in the US upon entry for 3-5 months after submitting the I-765. I totally understand that a part of this process is to prove I can support him financially but I can't believe I missed this detail until now. I can do this but I must say, they really make this whole process nearly impossible, don't they?

Pouring a glass of wine now and hoping this will all be over one day....

Thank you! :) The whole process only took me for 2.5 hours, it was very quick. I went to the 3 different consuls. The first one was a filipina who asked my personal documents like Birth Cert., NBI, CENOMAR, MRV slip, and the passport. And she asked me some personal things as well like my birthday, name, email, phone number and also the dates when we met and got engage. Then i was asked to go to the next window for finger scanning with an American consul. And the last step was the final interview with another american consul. First, I was asked to raise my right hand for the oath taking.

And then following questions were asked are:

  • How we met
  • Who are our mutual friends
  • When was the last time we met
  • How do we communicate
  • Where does he live
  • If my fiance ever had kids or divorced/ do i have kids or been married before

Then thats pretty much it tho. The consul gave me 3 pieces of papers and I was told I've got approved. :)
