New stage, new questions!

I'm a June straggler, but did finally get approved on March 1. Anyone from the June group will know that I'm not very patient, so I've already called NVC twice (they say they don't have my petition yet). BUT I called USCIS and talked to a tier 2 this morning and he said that my petition has been "in NVC staging since 3/2". He explained that that means that USCIS is trying to send it to NVC, but NVC is actually the one that waits to accept petitions in batches. Curious if anyone else has heard anything similar.

I read on this forum, someone who spoke at length with tier 2,  that they send the mail in batches on a weekly basis, or sometimes 2 weeks, so "stageing" might just be a term for" in a bin, waiting to be put on a truck to be deliver who knows when"....

Well that was why I was asking, since what I was told was distinctly different than what others have heard. It seems like they're testing out an electronic systems (that for some reason leads to long wait times at NVC). Those are the people that press 1 then 5 when calling the NVC. Just trying to mentally prepared if I'm in the "slow" NVC group since I already waited 262 days for NOA2.

Same! Just rang NVC, they don't have my file yet :( I want to be in the US by April 20th if possible. There's an interview date in Brazil April 10th, but if NVC takes too long I'm afraid it may run out of slots

Yay and congrats! I actually PM’d all the other approved Turkish fillers a couple weeks ago and there were appointments for about 2 weeks out.

I’m actually hoping for an interview the first week of May with POE either end of May or early June. My fiancé has finals the last week of April and wants to spend some time with his family before moving. Also my work is getting me a Brazilian work authorization, so there’s a chance he’ll meet me in Brazil and we can do POE together a bit later. As long as we’re both in the US by end of June I’ll be happy since our wedding is set for August 11! :)

That's good to hear! I also PM'd a Turkish filer and she said there were interviews 1 week out! I hear there are a surprising number of Turks in South America. Our wedding is on Sept. 29 (but we'll legally get married sooner so he can get work auth ASAP!)
