ISSUE WITH COLOR DOCUMENTS

Hello everyone, l need a quick response to these. 

 

My wife just went to Office Max few minutes ago and they say they can not print out our documents in color because we are sending them to the Government that's a law according to the lady she met there.  I would love anyone to shed more lights because my wife intends to print out all documents in color Tomorrow in her office. 

 

Secondly my headshot is with her but without my signature, can she just write my name at the back of the headshot (passport) and send it like that 

 

 

And how many headshot does she needs

Did you read the link I posted this morning under your other "Head Shot" thread?  It will give instructions concerning the required photos....this is a self help site....and I know of no law stating what the lady said.

"The Government"? The government is broken into at least 3 very distinct levels (local, state, and federal), each with their own laws. Even then, it's broken up into many different departments and agencies for each level. Does somebody really believe that it is illegal (or even not accepted) at all of them? smh...

Then again, I've never had seen anything but absolute failure using OfficeMax/CopyMax for printing documents. I could go off on a long tangent there, but they screwed up even the most basic prints, ignored all printing options (ordered online!), and didn't verify my ID or payment before just handing me a set of documents (with PII data within them). Never again...

 

The precise instructions were posted in your other thread. The passport photos do need to be in color...it certainly is not illegal to print them in color or send them. That said, I would suggest using something like a CVS/Walgreens/whatever to do the photos. I did one passport set myself through them directly, while another time I printed (2) 2"x2" passport-style photos on a single 4"x6" print (and cut it myself), costing me under $0.50 versus the like $12/pair they normally charged.

UPS office is wrong.  It is not illegal to make color copies of your passport for your own use.

This was my solution to providing color copies of documents for our case.  I bought a $50 Cannon printer at Walmart......works great for immigration documents and it provided me with extra copies of everything in the package.

The Department of State (DOS) recommends that every USC traveling abroad carry a photocopy of their passport. In the event that your passport is lost, stolen, or damaged while abroad, the photocopy can be used as a form of ID to obtain a replacement.

Other than the photograph, why would the copies of other documents have to be in colour? We sent black and white photocopies and there were no issues.
