Hello,

I am a student (with F-1). I am graduating on May 2018 and I am planning to get married with a USC on Nov 2018. In the mind  time, my plan is working that's why I was considering getting my OPT. Is this may best option? Or there's a visa that can allow me stay and work while we get married?

Yes, use OPT. Plus, after you get married and AOS, getting a working permit is going to take 4 months, so you are looking at March-May for the working permit.

From May to May to basically have a year of OPT through F1 visa.

Thanks for your answer. I already applied to opt. I am waitting for my EAD

I have another two questions and I was hopping you can answer them, please.

First question:Once I have the opt, could I apply to any company that offers a job with my major? Or I have to apply to a particular companies that accept F1 students?...

Second question: if I have a job with my EAD valid( that I get with the opt) and I get married, do I need to apply for another EAD?or I have to stop working?

Please help!

You can only get the job at places that have e-verify. Any medium to large company will have that.

I would apply to every job and then, if you get the offer, they will tell you if they have e-verify or not.

The EAD won't stop working if you get married.

On OPT you must work in your field of study.  Your school's job placement office should be able to assist you with finding an appropriate position and DSO will have information on requirements.

E-verifies applies to STEM OPT extension at this time. However, I believe e-verify indicates the company is of higher quality than those who avoid it.
