Guys

I found out that my AOS case is at the desk of an immigration officer just waiting for his/her approval. But at this time I have to move out of state. Can any one tell me how important it is to inform them of the change in address? I am really worried that it might screw things up if I change offices. Please advice if anyone has been in a similar situation or not.

I feel I am really close to an approval .

Thanks all,

H

If you do not inform USCIS about your change of adress you might get a penalty. You have to file AR-11 (either online or in mail).

If you do not want to notify them, how do you expect them to send the GC to you??

Also your sponsor has to fill out I-865 and file that. According to them they will need 45 days to change the adress in their system and you have to notify them within 10 days after your move.

I was moving too and this might be the reason why my GC got sent back because it could not be forwarded.

Hope this give you some information.

Good luck!

I went in to the Local office and made a scene when one of the supervisors informed me that it was on the desk of an officer.

Any way, guys I thought the post office will forward my mail and I can hold on to the same zip code. However if I change my address, my file loses priority, right?
