It should be fine. The I-693 can be brought to the interview, or sent before/after. It's not a document required when you initially file for AOS. It just needs to still be valid (1 year from the exam date) when they approve the I-485.

Normally an RFIE stops everything, but this looks like it's just a reminder to me.

That is what I was thinking too "a reminder". The online notification does sound a bit harsh, but I am thinking it is an automated thing and the system itself is notorious for being unstable to say the least.....
But still, given the importance of the whole process, I was wondering if others, especially knowledgeable people like you, would have the same impression.
Thank you so much for all your advises, I truly appreciate your balanced, accurate advises.

Relax, this is not a race.

Agreed. If somebody wants to call and verify, that's fine, but it's not something I would personally be concerned about. Many people don't send the I-693 initially given that AOS is taking over a year to complete in most cases...meaning a new exam + I-693 would be requested if they sent it with the I-485.

No problem!

The i693 is not the RFIE you should call them again. RFIE has to do with financials or birth certificate usually. Dont ignore it just cause you got curteosy letter at the same time. Other people got RFIE and curteosy letters before.

Our case was received late March. Did the biometrics and got the "ready for interview" status late April, a lot faster than we were expecting. But we were prepared to wait 1+ year for the interview.

Yesterday morning we got a (shocking) notice that an interview had been scheduled and that a letter was getting sent. About 6 hours later, the status was rewinded back to "ready for interview". This was on the old USCIS website. I set up an account with the new USCIS website and it says the interview was cancelled. Our attorney said to wait a week or so to see what, if any, correspondence comes in from USCIS.

Has this happened to anyone? Would it be worth calling to see if an interview is actually scheduled in their system or ask for clarification?

I don’t know if you guys have been checking the processing times, but they have gone up now. I-765 used to be 2.5-5 months, and now they show as 4-6 months. Same thing for I-485. For my field office it used to be 5.5-15 months, and now they are 8-16.5 months. Seems like USCIS is getting slower and slower.

Awesome, that's great news. Good luck with the interview!

I've been on Ready for Interview for about 2 and half weeks now... Hoping for something soon!

Are you filing from F1? My original submission was end of February and I haven't heard anything since biometrics.

This is a frustratingly long wait. Has anyone else not heard anything since biometrics? I'm beginning to get panicked. Especially considering they never updated to say I did biometrics. Just that they received my RFIE I submitted a week or two after

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

Receipt Number: XXX

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On June 7, 2018, we transferred your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS, Receipt Number XXX, to another office for processing and sent you a transfer notice. The notice explains why we transferred your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by July 7, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators. If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.
