Tough place to be. When you both entered into the relationship and then the marriage, you both knew that it would take time to get through the process. I'm sure you never thought it would take 3 yrs. But if you both love each other unconditionally, is there no way to hold on? Are there other factors that you haven't shared? Is she having a hard time coping without you? I know from time to time I get in these moods where I don't know if I want to keep going through this with the distance and the waiting. Sometimes it feels like I have a relationship with my computer and not my fiance. But then I come to my senses and realize how much I love him and will wait to be with him. If you really loved her with all your heart and all that you are, why wouldn't you fight for your marriage? Maybe you have been. Sometimes, letting go is the hardest thing to do, but not always the best thing. How is she coping here?

Your timeline is not complete. At what point are you in the process? With the visa you are seeking, you do realize that once it is issued you will enter and activate your green card right? The wait will definately be worth it. Are yu waiting for security checks? have you had the interview? There are several people going through Egypt here who can advise you regarding the process, but it would helpt o know where you are.

Unless there are circumstances that you arent saying, my advice would be to not give up. You entered into this knowing that there would be a wait, and although I am assuming it is far longer than what you thought if anything in this world is worth fighting for surely it is love. What is 3 or even 5 years in the face of a lifetime? My fiance and I have been at this for 2 years now, and yes there are nights I cry myself to sleep but inshallah patience will win out. Mohammed and I look at this as a test from God to see how much we want this. I wish you the best of luck....only you know the situation but you made a promise before God, now I think its time to put your faith in him and let him carry you!!!

you handed in your movement certificate and they told you that they are in the final review stage.....to try & give you some hope (because it's always good to have), someone on this forum has also had their husband return the movement certificate weeks ago and they were finally granted a visa........hold on.......you & your wife have gotten this far and hopefully it will not be much longer.......this process is extremely painful but if the two of you want to be together then just try (I know it's hard) to hold on a little bit longer.....your journey should be over soon in sha Allah.

if it makes you feel any better.....my husband & I are still waiting for him to get an interview date.....we sent in packet 3 feb. 12th......it's May & they haven't updated their interview website & I'm paranoid that he might be scheduled for an interview tomorrow or something & we have no way of finding out......they haven't responded to my emails lately and I'm not having luck calling either......

Don't give up now!!! I believe you are almost to the end of this crazy process. Someone else has gotten their visa not too long after the request for the movement certificate so this is possible for you. I know it is very very hard and we have not been waiting as long as you--for us just a little over a year, but you are at the end of this journey so just hold out for a little longer.......

You should totally post your wife's picture, like you did on the other thread. It gives crucial context and insight into your unique case.

Saw the pic you are referring to...how does it give "crucial context and insight?" Nothing in the pic says anything about how they feel for each other or what they are going through right now.

And just who do you think you are? This man is already hurting . Shame on you.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Sarcasm anyone?

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

The Washington Post's Style Invitational also asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition.

One of the winners this year was:

Sarchasm (n): The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.

One of my new favorite words. ;)

Omigod why didn't you say so sooner? In that case the LAST thing he needs is a reality check or any semblances of honesty. I mean, what 24 yr old Egyptian man doesn't aspire to marry these kinds of women? Like if it weren't for her, he'd never even dream of leaving the black hole that is Mubarak's Arab Republic of Egypt.

Unfortunately, the cuteness of this will be lost on 99% of readers here. Sarchasm is endemic on the MENA forum, anyway.
