IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

March filer here! We received our NOA1 on March 15th and patiently waiting for NOA2 as we are in the 6+ month zone.

My fiance has booked a ticket to come visit the US for Thanksgiving in November (for 2 weeks)--if we get approved by ~end of September/early October--would we be cutting it too close for him to visit? I am not sure how quickly the NVC and Embassy will move once we receive the NOA2 but I'd think that he will need to be back home in Israel during that time to get the medical exam/file additional paperwork/be available for the interview.

Does anyone know how much time in advance the Embassy notifies you for your interview? Also, do they send you snail mail with the notification that it's scheduled or do they call/email you? If he's in the US and he gets called, he can get on the next flight out but I wouldn't want him to feel pressured or jeopardize the timing of returning to Israel for the interview while he is physically in the US.

I would suggest you check out the regional forums here on VJ. The people there will be more familiar with the procedure in his country.  If we don't get our NOA2 by the end of September my fiance is going to visit me in November, since it takes about 1+ month at NVC and then 2+ months to get a Canadian consulate interview date, so it's fairly safe to say he won't have an interview by November.  However, every country is different, which is why it's best to consult the people in the regional forum!

A Helpful note to call USCIS....

Option 1:

Call USCIS(+1-800-375-5283). Do not press anything. Do not choose a language. If someone who picked up the phone cannot answer your question, ask them to transfer you to TIER 2.

Option 2:

Dial 1-866-953-7684

Option 3:

Call 1-800-375-5283

Press 1 to continue to english

Press 2 for case status

Press 1 if you know your receipt number.

Type your receipt number

Option 4:

Dial 1-800-375-5283 then press 1,2,2,4,2,1 then enter receipt number then press 1.

Can the beneficiary call for case status update or it has to be the petitioner?

Hi everyone! Giving you an update as promised! 😉 Tier 2 called back yesterday and told us WE ARE APPROVED ! I am so happy! He was very nice and congratulated us!

Btw I have no updates on both websites!

Good luck everyone and God bless!

Hey guys- kind of an update! My fiance called today and they also said tier 2 would call back, and when they did he just said that were in normal processing times , but that if we had an rfe or anything delaying us we wouldve heard about it by now, so i guess thats good i suppose....

I just am dying here waiting , we hit the 201 days mark today (noa1 march 5th), and im aware were within normal times but i was just hoping for a miracle like we were silently approved or something.... he said that we should get an noa2 in 2 weeks, but if not im submitting that case enquiry! Hah!

Good luck everyone though
