Hey! Thats really great news for you :D Just curious, because ive really wanted to visit my fiance in the US too , but have read that there's a possibility to be denied (i also was denied my second time visiting prior to filing because at the time i didnt have any "ties" to the uk so they didnt believe id return) like how are you visiting, with an esta? Thanks , sorry to pry, im just dying waiting and it would be great if i could visit too haha xx

What ties do you have to home?

Hey! This will be my 2nd visit since filing. I went in April and had no issues. I took with me a letter from my employer to say they expect me to return on xx/xx date etc. But I didn’t need it (ESTA).

This time we are both flying to Florida (home will be NYC) so they will see it’s a vacation plus I will take a letter from my employer plus the hotels and flights I have booked with work after my trip. This will be my 11th visit there I think (across 2.5 years and 2nd after filing) and I haven’t had any issues so far - probably just jinxed myself ha!

Do you have a job etc to come back to the U.K. for? xx

Oh okay! Thank you very much for answering , I currently dont have a job since i quit preemptively thinking we'd hear soon , but now I have been applying, its strange to apply for something not knowing if youll even be here long enough to follow through! Ha! But may aswell earn some money again... but thanks again for answering :)

Ah ok yeah that will do it then. I’m not an expert (far from it lol) but just from what I’ve seen having a job to come home to is something they are looking for as well as family, etc. Might be best to wait until you have got a job here before you travel again.

I want to quit my job now but I’m being as patient as possible and will probably hand my notice in after interview if all goes well as I’ve heard way too many horror stories on this site!

My fiancé has visited me in the USA 2 times since filing. She was just here for 2 weeks the end of aug till sept 11th. She's never had a issue entering or returning. Haven't even bothered to provide proof that she was returning. But, it's always safe to have the proper documents on u just in case they ask.

Oh wow thats great for you guys! When i tried to visit my first time in america before filing they asked me loads of questions in a seperate room and i had to provide all of my proof of returns and stuff! And then my second time trying to visit for the holidays before filing, they did the same but actually denied me because i didnt have a job at the time and he said i didnt have any real reason to return to the uk ( even though i had a return ticket and my family is here ) and he denied me and i lost about £500 (i didn't even use the flight to america, just took a flight to dublin as my layover and they had american preclearance there and thats where i got denied! So i had to pay for the return flights i never used 😭 ) thanks for replying though!

That's what I though, my fiance have a good job and we can manage one income during that time but I want to have my own money for emergencies etc, I hate being dependent of someone and I also have to send money for my parents back home...

I'm just evaluating if changing jobs it's a good move, my Mexican residency depends on having a job (new company is checking about paperwork to hire me). I can't afford to lose my residency and jeopardize the whole process of K1.

With that info it makes it scetchy. Guess as long as they don't know u r only planning on being there for a short period of time it won't hurt u. If they found out though they could use it against u. Something to keep in mind.

Best of luck

For financials this is all you need.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134.

There really isn't much out there for your Embassy and interview. I did find this link. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html

Contact the Embassy when you get your case number.

Telephone number for American Citizens: +370 5 266 5601

Public telephone hours:
