Hi all,

I have a question regarding the vaccination requirements.

Do we get our vaccinations before the Medical Exam, so we can bring our International Vaccination booklet to the Medical Exam in order to proof that we meet the vaccination requirements? Or does that happen during the Medical Exam?

Is this the correct link for the requirements?

https://www.uscis.gov/news/questions-and-answers/vaccination-requirements

  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Rubella
  • Polio
  • Tetanus and Diphtheria Toxoids
  • Pertussis
  • Haemophilus influenzae type B
  • Hepatitis B
  • Any other vaccine-preventable diseases recommended by the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices

Or are there even more vaccinations needed according to CDC ?

https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/laws-regs/vaccination-immigration/revised-vaccination-immigration-faq.html

What vaccines are required for U.S. immigration?

At this time,* vaccines for these diseases are currently required for U.S. immigration:

  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Rubella
  • Polio
  • Tetanus and diphtheria
  • Pertussis
  • Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Rotavirus
  • Meningococcal disease
  • Varicella
  • Pneumococcal disease
  • Seasonal influenza

*On December 14, 2009, the human papillomavirus (HPV) and zoster vaccines were removed from the list of required vaccines for immigrant applicants. All other vaccinations on this list remain.

Any future vaccines recommended by ACIP for the general U.S. public will be subject to the new vaccination criteria. If the recommended vaccines fit the new criteria, they will be added to the list of required vaccines for immigrant applicants.

The vaccinations are very expensive in Sweden, so I would like to make sure not to do unnecessary vaccines. Especially as some diseases are children's diseases like Varicella.

Thank you so much for your tips!

❤️

Hmm this seems a little advanced and might better be answered in the NOA2 threads, as they're the ones who are going through that process right now.

The only relevant instruction I see is this: If you lack any vaccinations required for your age category, the civil surgeon will administer the vaccines as needed. In the alternative, you can also choose to obtain the required vaccines from your private healthcare provider. However, because only a civil surgeon is authorized to complete the vaccination assessment on the Form I-693, you must return to the civil surgeon with the proof that you have received the missing vaccines.

So it seems to me that you should wait for the medical exam for them to examine your records and tell you which vaccines you'd need. But to be safe, probably better to ask some of the people who'd have more experience at that stage than I do.

“English bacon” is actually pork loin here. Only differance is that it is smoked like bacon is. Trust me. I fell in love with English bacon when I visited England for the first time. Oh love kabas also 😋But, u can keep the nasty blood sausage. Can’t handle that.. ok I can if I had to but, choose not to 😂🤪😂🤪

@crono_clone Thanks a lot for your reply. :) I read in the other groups that people did their vaccines already before the NOA2, in order to be prepared for the Medical Exam.. But I also dont know how it exactly works and if that makes any sense ;)

Thank you anyways, I will try in the NOA2 group.
