Today marks 200 days since NOA1... They got my RFE a week ago and I am trying very hard not to obsess and worry, since it is entirely normal for it to take longer than a week to respond.

I feel you. We're now at day 223 and it's been 11 days since they received our RFE. 😞

Received an Email today that NVC is forwarding to CDJ! One step closer!

Hi,

I see you are from Mexico as well. We got our hard copy of NOA2 in the mail on Oct 5th. When do you think we will hear from the NVC, and get our case number?

Thanks

Today is day 215 and still no news, no approval, no rfe, no email. 😔😔Who is the same boat with me??

I am. Actually starting to research jobs in the Philippines. 😂 I'm so tired. Sometimes I feel like I should just go back home to him and forget this "journey".  But then I decide I won't let 202 days of torture go to waste, so I'm back to waiting. 😑 Hope we (whoever is still waiting with me) gets approved soon. At this point I'll be happy with an rfe.  Which is so so sad. 😂 #drivingmenuts.

I feel you, at this point I don't wanna give up, we waited for so long, another 10 days is not gonna kill us, this is what I tell myself every 10 days xD I would be happy about an rfe as well, coz at least this means they touched our case and it is not lost somewhere. I keep my fingers crossed, that everybody who is still waiting, will have their approval soon!!!

Here is a little help for what is coming up. I'm guessing you are oing to be processing your visa through USEM there in the Philippines. Then you need to do this:

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get done. To smooth that trail for you I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course, it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps, he includes the what, when and why to complete the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

Next, you'll want to connect with those who are processing through the Philippines in the VJ Philippines sub-forum that way you will be with like-minded ppl who are sharing their experiences and also asking and answering questions. Since most in this thread is processing through another country they would be hard-pressed to explain what is needed for the Philippines.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

You'll find this on Hank's website but I will give it to you early and that is the Packet 3 Letter for USEM. It's found here:

https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

Here is the Packet 3 letter.

https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/K1-and-K2-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-336KB.pdf

There you have it. Everything you need to get your visa. Good luck and smooth sailing.

First, don't begin calling for 10 business days after you get your text message (NOA2). Second, you will need the Petitioner's and Beneficiaries full name and date of birth.

Call 603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888 Be prepared for a wait. Tell the operator that you are requesting a case number for your K-1. They will ask for the receipt number located on the left top of your I-797 (NOA2) form. Then he/she will either tell you that they have not received your case or you will be asked for the names and date of birth. If they don't have the case, you will be told it can take 30 to 45 days for them to receive it and to wait however many days/weeks and call back. That's a pad answer so ignore it. You can call back the next day or as often as you want. NVC's hours are 7am to 12 am (midnight) eastern time. Monday through Friday except Federal Holidays. Calling early at 7 am on the dot will get you in the fastest or calling late the lines to be open most often.

When you have your case number, enter it here https://ceac.state.g...ker/status.aspx and it will tell you one of three things... At NVC, In Transit, or Ready.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should also check in with your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy - Juarez Mexico.

Link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Get the Juarez K1 Embassy instructions at http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ%20-%20Ciudad%20Juarez.pdf (Spanish) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cBWgGJr4a5ay3b4OV28_dC3pgf63ZUr-/view?usp=sharing (English) as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use this website as a checklist. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages

if it can take that long why do they put a valid through date on your noa2 letter? what does that mean anyway? your noa2 has an expiration date?

My guess would be so that cases wouldn't pile up, for example those who abandon them, get separated and never follow up, etc. Imagine they kept ALL the cases that were abandoned midway. Obviously there is more to that, but that one of the reasons, i'd say they have it.

As for NVC, i called 10 days after approval, they said they didn't have it, i called next morning, they received it. A day later, had my case number assigned. Call them early morning 7am preferably, or late at night 10pm or later, early morning i didn't have wait time at all, nor yesterday evening. I got my case number assigned very quickly, but i doubt that i will hear anything for next week or two, so that's kind of pointless. As Greenbaum always says, no reason to be worried as you have no control over it, and you won't know anything until they tell you.
