They will update your case that they have received your RFE response, they received mine sept 12 and then got approved sept 20. It varies though.

Hope this helps!

Awesome. Thanks for the info! Hope mine is that quick too. Would you mind telling me what your RFE was for? Mine was literally only for not checking the box for not having a criminal history (which was my lawyers fault). I'm hoping because it's something simple it won't take long to get an approval.

Mine wasnt that simple but it was easy - Letter of intent and also proof that we met within 2 yrs.

Yea. We have friends that say they put they met online without details and didn’t get a RFE either. Maybe most officers would rather not open the can of worms. Haha. But because I mentioned the specific service/app, they were obligated to inquire. I wish I had just said online or had read about including terms of service before I submitted. But in the end, it seems to not be a big deal and hopefully we’ll see our approval within a couple weeks!

Now im freaking out since we mentioned we met through tinder.

Tinder is popular enough that there’s a high chance you won’t get anything for it. I imagine they’ve had a lot of applications from those that met via Tinder by now. We met through a relatively new app to the market and is gay specific so likely unknown to most USCIS officers.

Makes sense.

I'd never heard of surge until you mentioned that you'd used it, so if I was an adjudicator I wouldn't know anything about it and would want more info.

I suggest you mention why you each chose that app, maybe something about how you had been using it,  a screenshot of your profiles?, and that it works in the same location-based way as tinder, grindr etc.  But most significant to disclaim the IMB point is that no-one else was involved in you 2 getting together,  no fees paid by either of you, you found each other yourselves.

We met partially on the scruff app, hopefully that is sufficiently well known, we didn't explain the terms of service in our application.

Anyhow, that RFE is easy to answer, and is one of the possibilities you mentioned some weeks go.  So a delay, but nothing too serious..  Best of luck.

first met late 2016, met 13 more times since. Filed i-129 Apr 14th. NOA2 dated Oct 11th.

Well I guess news but not good news.

I called in today to get an update and apparently they sent a request for evidence on the 27th Of September. I don’t know why, I sent over 40 photos of us together and letters, etc. so I guess I’ll have to find out. Really really bummed out and feeling hopeless right now. Not even a clue except that I put “Okcupid.com” and the guy was like “MARRIAGE BROKERAGE SITE!!!” Even though a 30 second google search proves this wrong. MAN! Sigh.
