Hi, I know this isn't really relevant to this forum , but what are you guys planning to do about healthcare / insurance? Because I live in the UK and we have the nhs which essentially means we get free healthcare, so the concept of not having any is scary to me... I know some may be able to be put onto their soon to be spouses plan, but mine is self-employed and on his stepfathers insurance which i think already has the maximum amount of people on, so im not quite sure how that will work for me... Also I think most of us are hoping to become citizens at the end of this journey, so how does like dual citizenship work? Like do we get to stay a citizen of the country we came from or is it just not possible? Haha thanks in advance for any replies!

Your spouse can only stay on his parents' plan if under 26 and unmarried.  You will both need health insurance, so I would strongly encourage you to explore the health insurance marketplace for the state where you will reside.  Even if you are young and healthy, it is too risky to be without insurance, even temporarily.

As far as the dual citizenship for naturalized US citizens, it is statutorily allowed, yet the oath requires the new citizen to renounce foreign allegiances.  Maybe others here know how this translates into practice?

Also, just FYI:  if you have children, they can definitely be dual citizens.  Mine are dual US/UK citizens; born here with a UK-born father.  Having both passports has really come in handy, especially for the one who is grown and now travels with friends within the EU.

Why the late night and weekend notifications?

Likely to prevent the flood of calls that notifications during business hours would cause.  😂

Computers don't take weekends off. With the slew of information being spewed out it just takes time is my guess.

Haha. True. Makes me wonder though what is being automated. Are the late evening approvals from the agent checking a box saying all is good pending background check then the service they use for the background check sends back a thumbs up so the system automatically sends the alert. Is there some other automated processes that auto send RFEs. Or is it they are so backed up they have a queue of backlogged notifications (I have a hard time believing this one). Anyway, not important. Just peeks my curiosity.

There is another couple from the Phil with your same timeline and they just got their approval on Friday. Your's is right around the corner. I am going to give you some tools that will help you watch the timelines of others from the Philippines.

There are several tools available to you. Go up to Immigration Timelines on the blue ribbon above and select it. Once you are on the next page looked to your left and you will see a box that states, "find similar timelines" and select it. A list will populate with those who are processing close to your timeline. When they start to change you will soon be behind them.

Also, there is another place you can go and follow others who are processing the same time you are and for the same Embassy. Go to the blue ribbon at the top of this page and select "portals". Scroll down the left-hand side of the page till you get to VJ "your country's name" Timelines. Just below it you'll see "K-1" so you select it and out pops a window with others from your country.

Do you guys have your NBI Clearance? Have you looked over your documents for spelling errors or wrong dates? Does the beneficiary have enough time in her passport to make the trip. Needs at least 6 months but I recommend more than a year. If not you need to get the passport renewed before the interview. Does the BC match the Passport name? These are but a few of the "gotchas" for the Philippines Embassy.

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get done. To smooth that trail for you I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps he includes the what, when and why to completing the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

Next you'll want to connect with those who are processing through the Philippines in the VJ Philippines sub-forum that way you will be with like minded ppl who are sharing their experiences and also asking and answering questions. Since most in this thread are processing through another country they would be hard pressed to explain what is needed for the Philippines.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

You'll find this on Hank's website but I will give it to you early and that is the Packet 3 Letter for USEM. It's found here:

https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

Here is the Packet 3 letter.

https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/K1-and-K2-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-336KB.pdf

There you have it. Everything you need to get your visa. Good luck and smooth sailing.

Thanks for these! Would my fiancé need to send me his physical I-134 form or would a scanned copy work?

Honestly, I think that it just relates to when they have software updates.  I am not a tech person by far, but even in my field (health care), there are updates and emails that go out overnight, ostensibly because that is when the servers are free from heavy use.

No part of the RFE or approval decision-making process is automated.

No not for the Phil. Copy is fine. For the past 3+ year's USEM has not ask for financials but they still recommend you have them available for the interview.

So I'm a March 2 filer and now they are on March 3 at CSC. :( Anyone else have this issue? I have heard nothing and no RFEs. Maybe I shouldn't panic because it's just one day over but I feel more than a little stressed because the posts I see from people in this situation is they are just getting a "we will get to it when we get to it" response. Any advice before I try to find the number and try to call tomorrow? Ty

The dates you see here are averages based on VJ members updating their timelines. It’s not where USCIS is in their processing. I’ve seen March 13 peeps get approved and then some Jan and Feb filers are just now getting approved. Let’s hope we aren’t in the boat!

Yes, don't call tomorrow and have some more patience. Calling is not going to get your approval any sooner nor is it going to help release the anxiety that you are carrying. Just my experience.

Here is a couple of tools that help you stay off the phone.

I found on the USCIS website when an applicant can file an out of processing time. It says that if your application was filed before February 19th and then you can file.  March 2. :)

Yea. Us early Marchers are right at the 6 month mark. They have processing times as 5-7 months so we're technically not out of that for another month. God I hope it doesn't happen to any of us!
