Good day fellow VJers. So new to this site and asking for your advice.

I met a woman(now my fiancée) 11 months ago and I must say it was love at first sight. We met on christian dating for free. We always talk day and night til we became official as boyfriend and girlfriend on March 19 last year. We both of Christian Faith which really make me fall inlove with her more not to mention her good heart and wholebeing. We both fell in love with each other so fast. Til such time I decided to propose to her online on May last year and she said yes. We planned of coming back to her home country to make everything formal from her parents asking her hand to marry me and meet her friends and relatives as well since she works in hongkong. I went there Dec. 31, 2017 to January 6, 2018. Stayed there for 7 days and got everything done for all our I-129F petition. On January 12 I filed our paper in the USCIS. We are exchanging letters and gifts to each other before we met personally. I am so madly deeply inlove with this woman and so she is with me.

My questions are:

*Would there be any issue of just meeting her only once for 7 days and file I-129F?

*Did i commit any red flag of asking her to marry me too early?

*Is there any reason for the USCIS not to approve our petition?

Gotta find way to ease my anxiety. Thank you everyone for reading and advice/s

Regards,

I know technically the I-129f instructions say you only need to prove meeting once in the past two years, I've read that some petitions have been rejected because only meeting in person once may not satisfy the CO to believe that it is a legitimate relationship. Knowing that this may be a weak point in your petition, just be sure moving forward to do whatever you can to prove your relationship is real. This can include more visiting trips (and associated itineraries, passport stamps, flight tickets), receipts of the gifts you've bought, chat and phone logs, postage stamps of letters you've sent, etc

Red flags? No, not at all. You met on a dating site, though, so you may want to look through the forums about other cases where couples met on dating sites. You may have to print out the site's TOS and other things to prove that it wasn't a marriage broker.

The biggest problem with your petition, imo, is that you may have difficulty in proving a bona fide relationship. It doesn't help that the Philippines is not an easy country to go through. I hope this doesn't contribute to your anxiety. You've already sent in the I-129f, so just make sure in all future documents you send in to dot your i's and cross your t's and provide as much evidence as possible to prove your bona fide relationship, and you should be fine. Good luck!

You should be fine. Manila is one of the easiest places to get a K1 approved.

Many cases like you I have seen in the past with approval.

She’s a filipina but she will go through Hongkong Consulate cause she’s working there. If incase we cant be able to meet for the second time,  will letters, gifts, call logs and screenshots become a helpful tools to streghten our petition?

She will go through US embassy in HongKong. Does this affect her interview? If incase we cant meet for the second time, will letter, gifts, call logs  and screenshots become a helpful tools to strengthen our petition?

you should be fine.

but i do wanna add that noone can promise you a foolproof, definite approval. just get as much proof of ongoing relationship as possible.

it would be great if you could ask your close friends and families to write you affidavits of relationship, basically letters saying they are aware of relationship, are happy for you and if applicable, cannot wait to attend your wedding. she should have some from her side too.

good luck! :)

I am not up to date on Hong Kong Embassy and there requirements.  I am updated on US Embassy in Manila and it requirements and procedures.

You may want to go to the regional section and post a thread in the Philippines Sections, and ask if anyone did a  K1 petition in Hong Kong for a Filipino/a working there.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

Is that what they want to see in Hong Kong

For the US Embassy in Manila it would be a waste of time

First of all, how much of these aforementioned evidences did you put into your I-129f petition? I would say the more you put in early, the better, because the next chance you'll have to provide updated information is after the CO has already had a chance to review your petition and create an impression of your relationship in their mind.

Secondly, she will be going through Hong Kong? Is she a resident of Hong Kong, and if so, studying or working? You should change your profile flag to reflect that.

If you can't meet for a second time, then just make sure to keep all the evidences you can. I can't guarantee anything, but just remember that the burden will be on your to prove a bona fide relationship.

Bro, you are really the only poster on VJ who says that Filipinas have an easy time.

And it seriously doesn't matter what is a waste of time or not. For VJ petitioners and beneficiaries who are anxious, it's just best if we prepare everything. I can't promise them all they need is 45 photos as proof of ongoing relationship and they will be approved, can I?

I'm from Singapore. The reviews I read is that 3 photos are sufficient. I still prepared a whole bunch of other evidences.

The waiting time NOW is way too frustrating and miserable for people to take these silly risks. Better be safe than sorry, yeah?

Really.  I have 3 approved K1 visa from Philippines.

You stay around here long enough and keep your ears and eyes open you will see USEM is easiest place to get approved for a K1, a tad stricter on marriage visa.

This is not my opinion, but a general consensus, been that way for 12 year that I am know of

You have 3 approved K1 Visa cases from Philippines and you think it's simple already? Precisely how many K1 Visas do you think go through to Manila embassy? 10? 20? It's thousands per year.

And every case is unique. The OP has only met his fiancé once for 7 days and is unable to fly into Hong Kong to meet her again in during the process. They met at a Christian dating. Is that exactly what happened in all of your 3 cases? Did the OP mention whether both famillies are aware and approve of their relationship?

I'm just trying to help and suggest other evidence of genuine relationship that the OP did not think of, and my belief is that it's better to be fully prepared. Again, especially NOW when the waiting time is ridiculously agonizing.

I will leave this mini-discussion at here. Let us focus on helping the OP.

We included receipts of postages, letters, gifts, flowers, facebook posts, our conversations on the dating site where we meet, photos of me with my mom and dad holding the engagement ring, engagement photos, photos of us with her friends and family and western union receipt.

In our I-129F we included also there a letter(recommendation) from our church pastor certfying our bonafide relationship. Can I bring it again on the interview?

She’s working in Hongkong for more than 3 years now.

I do really appreciate both of your comments. Whew! I didn’t imagine that this entire process is so nerve wracking. We were at ease the past months after filing. But as days passes by i feel like i am being pricked one thorn after the other.

You seem prepared! It's out of your hands now, just gather more evidences as they show up and try not to worry :) Good luck!
