Hi everyone,

I need your advice. My interview date is september 25th and i am trying to collect all the paperwork to bring with me to the interview.I read everywhere that i should bring a copy of i-485 and i-130 with me to the interview just in case. However, my lawyer keeps telling me that I dont need to bring any copies of those forms. She is refusing to give me the copies and I am just upset and nervaous about it.I dont understand why she is being so stubborn. Can you please enlighten me about this? do I still need to bring a copy of i-485 and i-130? is it a big problem if i dont?

I didn't need the copy if the forms, the officer had everything.

You have to have the originals of everything.

I am not saying you won't need the copy of the forms, but most likely you won't need it.

However, you should know your answers on the form by memory..

Hi Divya,

Did you receive your SSN along with EAD in the same mail or in the separate mail and after how many days after receiving EAD?

I received the same day but different mail. EAD card after 5 days with the SSN separate envelope.

Ok. I got my EAD yesterday but not SSN. Is there way i can check if it has been issued or not? Or should i wait for a week and then go to SSA

Sometimes they don’t get the SSN for you. It’s you who have to get it. Try to call and ask if you have pending SSN. If not, then just get it by yourself.

I’m seeing a few people get their interview dates for well under a year from the time they filed, like you😀😀😀😀😀

I’m under the understanding that it’s approximately a year from the original 485 filing, correct?

It’s VERY encouraging to see the interview dates on here just 7 to eight months from original filing!!!

Hi guys. I just had my interview. It was scheduled for 8:45 and we got there at 8:15. Pittsburgh office

they called our name at 8:40 and we stayed in the room til 9. Very very nice lady, she asked a few questions from the form to me and then some to my husband, the yes or no questions.

then she asked about our story but it was more like a chat. She asked how we met, when we decided to get married, how is my relationship with their kids, said that she loves our wedding bands.

I gave her his most recent taxes, bank statements, helth insurance card copies and some pics, she didnt keep the pics tho.

she said it was all good and she would have to review it, she told us if everything was ok it would be approved this afternoon and I would get the card in a few weeks.

We left an hour ago and the app already updated for "new card is being produced"

very good experience at pittsburgh office, they are nice and fast.

ps: good luck to all the march filers still waiting!
