Hi, March AOS filers,  very important question here...

Those who are K-1 visa status, applied for SSN card with the combo card of EAD & AP,  can you kindly share after how many days of combo card been received by you, you have received SSN card?

Also, which address SSN card sent from? Is it USCIS or local SS office in your city/town?

I need SSN to submit to the potential employer so appreciate your experience!

Yes I had the interview at the Dallas office.

I would advise you not pay attention to stories of backlogs. I think it is based on whoever is handling your file and how fast or slow they are.

This is normal because some people that I applied they did got their interviews before I even got my letter for interview. in other words, some people's process took only 5 months.

I don't think my case was special. But if you ask about the EADs then I will let you know that I expedited them.

Hmm
Well this gives me hope
I have looked in VJ for Houston filers and people from June/July 2017 are still waiting which is sad.
Well-- I shall keep praying. Am glad to see things are moving! So Hopefully things go well on my end as well.

congrats on being done again! (for now. lol)

Many are getting it within 3-5 days after they got their EAD card in the mail
So I say give it 1 week, 2 weeks to be sure

Has anyone received their Social Security card yet?

I got mine 12 days after entering the country. Will have to go back to SS office once EAD is in hand so I can change it to married name and have it state that I’m able to work.

wait, do you need to "update" your SSN card?

I got my SSN like 9 years ago (as international) for on campus work, so it says " I am not eligible to work".

I got my EAD/AP combo now.

Should I re issue SSN without condition for the future?

As far as I’m aware - yes.

So, we were told by the lady who dealt with us at the SS office that once I received my EAD card with my married name and proof of permission to work that I would need to go back and update my card. As of right now it has my maiden name and says “not authorized to work” (or whatever? I can’t remeber the exact wording)

Im not 100% sure, but it would make sense to though right?

Someone inform me if I’m wrong! Please! Would be good to know!

Thank you! I feel likethey send a standard letter to everybody. They asked for medical exams, which already submitted (k1), affidavit of support (if not submitted yet) and I already sent. And all the normal documents like birth certificate, passport, divorce decree, proof of relationship, etc. nothing crazy. Im just gonna take the whole application that I first mailed and new proof of relationship

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to update you and let you know I received notification that my EAD card is in production after 159 Days! Yahoo :)

I am assuming since my EAD was approved my AP will be approved shortly as I applied for it at the same time. Is that usually the case?

Have a great day!

02/28 - Date Sent (AOS/EAD/AP)

03/02 - Case Was Received (AOS/EAD/AP)

04/06 - Bio Apt
08/08 - New Card Is In Production (EAD Only)

EAD/AP will be on the same card if you applied for both at the same time
It's rare to just have one without the other
