Congratulations! Looking at your timeline, you are really a fast one. For your K1 and for your AOS as well. Besides the fact that you filed in Chicago, is there anything special about your case that it goes that fast?

I’m not really sure.. Maybe it really depends on the officer working on our papers. hopefully things will be smooth for all of us :))

I just got a update saying that my case is ready to be scheduled for interview too! :D

I'm not sure whether to get excited about this update or not, just because it's 'ready' doesn't necessarily mean it'll be soon...right? (Although I'm keeping my fingers crossed! ^_^) Does anyone have any idea of the average timescale or significance of this update?

Guys I have a question. I Heard somewhere that all interviews also after K1 are No longer waived as it used to be. Can someone confirm that or give any source? I cannot find that information anywhere, although I found the information about employment based and refugee cases that are no longer waived for interviews (on uscis site). I am asking because in my notice is say that „not every applicant may require Interview”, which means that there is still a chance for us to avoid it. Or not?

There was a discussion around this topic back in February and I saw some folks last year from August and other months been waived. Anyway, this should clarify/answer your question;

1. Waiver Criteria
USCIS has the ability to waive an interview. [2] Adjustment of status interviews are generally waived for applicants in the following classifications:

•Applicants clearly ineligible;
•Unmarried children of U.S. citizens, if not filed as part of a family pack;
•Parents of U.S. citizens;
•Fiancé(e)s of U.S. citizens who married within 90 days, and their children;
•Asylee and refugee cases in which the applicant has previously been interviewed by an asylum or refugee officer; [3] and
•Unmarried children (under age 14) of lawful permanent residents.
