Just wanted to congratulations to everyone who has recently received approvals.

We were transferred but nothing yet.  Crazy enough I saw two people who weren’t transferred from VSC recently received approvals and they were April filers.

By any chance do you remember the first few numbers of the approved VSC April filers ( EAC18105 or later)

EAC181055 is a March filer.  March 2018 sequences goes to about EAC181265

First time poster, but I've been reading this thread for awhile and really appreciate all of the information!

We filed with VSC in March 2018, case was transferred to TSC earlier this year. We also filed N-400 on January 30, 2019, which was almost exactly 90 days prior to the 3 year mark.

Yesterday we got a letter with an interview for the N-400. I'm shocked because I was assuming that would take WAY longer  - it's been 2.5 months only.

However, I'm concerned that when we show up at the N-400 interview, our I-751 file will still be in TSC. We are definitely both planning on going together as I've read a lot of folks have had joint 751/400 interviews but is there a chance that they will not proceed with the interview if the 751 file is out of state? Should we call the 800 number prior to make sure our 751 file gets shipped to MA?

Thanks for any thoughts, and good luck to all!

@Suziesmom - Which office is over your jurisdiction?  Lawrence or Boston?

Have you done the biometrics for N-400? If so, when was that?  Biometrics appointment alone is usually scheduled 6-8 weeks after you file for N-400.  Based on that timeline, I am surprised to hear you get the interview letter in a very short time frame.  Theoretically speaking, about this time based on your filing date, you should still be getting the biometrics appointment only.

Nonetheless...

I wouldn’t bother calling the 800 numbers. Those parrots are so useless unless you can get them to transfer you to a next tier (Tier 2) officer.

You must bring your spouse with for an interview.  Your interview, if it goes according to the procedure, will start with I-751 first, then it will follow by N-400.

Your office (should) know that they need to request I-751 file from wherever it is.  You still have time until your interview date, you could very well receive another file transfer notice that your file is on its way to your local office.

I am under Boston officer’s jurisdiction, so I will be following your progress.

Please keep me and the community posted.  Thank you and good luck.

We live in Western Mass - last time we needed an InfoPass appointment to get the I-551 stamp (Green Card was lost - long story for another time) we had to go to Lawrence, but this time interview is scheduled in Springfield - I was under the impression that office had been closed but apparently they are still doing interviews?

Biometrics was done Feb. 28th in Hartford.

I will keep you posted!

I forgot about Springfield.  For a while Springfield is only serving as a “mobile unit,” believe it or not.  MA has done some redistricting to serve the people in western MA better.  Lawrence and Boston are too far for people living there.  So three offices are now serving MA.  Maybe they will drive a USCIS mobile van to interview you at a supermarket nearby. LOL.

I had no idea it was an option!!! I had already assumed we would drive the almost 2 hours to Lawrence and have to take most of the day off work so I am very pleasantly surprised.

I've been having the same concern as you. My husband filed the N-400 on Feb. 26 then we got a transfer notice about a week later. I assumed it was because of the N-400 but it was sent to Nebraska with a large batch of I-751s. I wasn't too worried but Detroit filers from about 3 weeks before us are starting to get their interview notices. I would rather have a combo interview than have the N-400 interview delayed. I too have thought about calling to see if it can be transferred!

Please update if you get any new information and I will as well.

I think this might be changing, maybe due to online filing? I am in the N-400 February filers and most of us had our biometrics within 2 to 3 weeks of application date. Plus many have already been scheduled for interviews. Definitely moving quicker than I expected!
