1. You will go through a US Citizen/LPR line.

2. No, as long as your letter extends your expired card until or beyond the date of your arrival in the United States.

3. No, [for me] except for the first time returning to the country as a US LPR, I was sent to secondary inspection for 5 minutes to verify my status.

I have traveled extensively since I became an LPR, and since I filed for I-751.  Not a problem at all.

Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it

Im hoping to received the 10 years green card by that time (praying) and hope that we all received the great news soon :)

Does anyone know why cases that were transferred to California have been approved but not a single one that has been sent to Texas has not?  Or have people who had theirs sent to Texas  had their cases approved but just didn't update the Google form on here?  Thank you in advance.  We are just trying to figure things out!

There were no cases that were transferred "to" CSC in the last year, with exception to a few that left CSC and came back from NSC (for whatever reason).

CSC continues its approval as usual for the files that are still there.  As of today, it is the fastest processing center among the five Service Centers for I-751.

A LOT of cases that went from CSC to TSC (on January 11, 2019) have already been approved.  Most new batches to TSC have come from VSC and the one from February 6, 13, 14 from VSC are now being worked on at TSC.

Thank you.  I obviously misspoke when I stated CSC.  I meant NSC.  Thank you for clarifying.  Either way, I appreciate your information.  My wife and I are just expecting our first child and have a crazy summer ahead of us, so we are trying to get all our ducks in a row.  Our case was sent over March 6th (if I recall correctly), so hopefully not too long to go.  Thanks again!

NSC unfortunately appears to be the slowest processing center, though I remember two people that were transferred there on February 6 have recently been approved.  That does not necessarily mean yours will be approved a month later.  It could been sooner, it could be later.  It is USCIS, after all.

Congratulations on the baby!

Thank you!  It's a crazy time.  We actually sent ours to VSC which was then transferred to TSC March 6th.

CSC processing times are now 13- 18.5 months. I think they approve 1 case a day :)

@Cougarfalcon83 -- they are manipulating the numbers.  The unload a bunch of cases so their numbers are reduced overall.  It is such a scam.

When you were waiting for your green card (I-485 pending), you are considered "pending adjustment of status," which is only recognized by the US as a legal status until I-485 is adjudicated.  Other countries do not recognize such pending status.  To other countries, you either are a permanent resident or you are not.

You will not have problem using I-551 stamp to apply for a Schengen visa.  I have applied for it twice with France and Germany.

I got turned away today (through phone) for my request for I-551 stamp because my extension letter does not expire until October.

Just to recap: I need to apply for Schengen visa to travel to Europe in August. The consulate stated that visa application requires proof of legal status within 3 months. August falls short just by a month of this cutoff. The USCIS personnel suggested that I obtain an official letter from the consulate that I will require the stamp. Has anyone encountered this situation before? Is it worth to speak to the consulate about this?

Yes, I had this requirement by the German Consulate in Boston.  So I called the Consulate directly and I was told that the 3-month rule does not apply to LPR.  So I went ahead and submitted my application.  The major concern here by another country is that whether you will be able to return to the US.  LPR is viewed differently from all other visa types.  Once you are LPR, you are assumed to be LPR forever (i.e. you can always renew your card until you die).  Visa holders are not assumed the same way.  Once you have a US visa does not mean you will be granted another visa if the current one expires.  Therefore, a 3-month rule beyond return date is imposed by some of these Consulates.

As long as your trip will end before your extension letter expires, they will most likely be fine with it.  You will most likely going to have to submit your application in person anyway, you can wait until then or you can call (or write) ahead to make sure the Consulate will be fine with it.  Not all Consulates are easy to contact so it may take some effort and sometimes to try to reach one.
