Hi guys, i just want to share that i received the approval letter today and the new card is being produced on Jan 31. I'm glad that the government shutdown did not affect the processing time.

gnjbarc - Congratulations!  Would you please share your WAC18XXXX?

Hey there guys. I havent been here for a while. While my ROC is still pending I kinda decided to not really keep track of whatever is happening or what months are getting approved, so I am not nervous about it. But few days ago I was curious how everything is looking like and I hope we will be slowly getting approved. I gotta fill out all of the dates at spread sheet for my case, but honestly I do not even remember it. I filed with waiver based on divorce. Good luck to everyone :)

I am just 3/23/18 filer with VSC. Not much is going on with us.  I check 4 forums back to November 2017 and I found some December 2017 getting approved, and one January 2018 getting approved (I think that is an anomaly).  I would say that VSC is clearing backlog it received from CSC files transfer plus its own December 2017 at the moment, based on the available data.

Nothing in here too. I am VSC. I am just hoping to get it approved, with no RFE. It would be hard to gather more evidences since I am already divorced and my ex remarried. I will be probably called for interview since I havent had one when I applied for AOS. I had a good experience so far with immigration. Our K1 was approved in 14 days, I got my conditional GC in 5 months and I really hope it will stay that way.

I'm with VSC too and haven't heard anything from them, they didn't even update that I did biometrics. Then my account was locked for inactivity and I can't seem to get it back. So not sure...

Question to all:

WAC/EAC 18-XXX-X

What number do you have in the 6th digit of your receipt number? 0 or 5?

I learned something today from USCIS.  The 3-digit that came before (3rd to 5th digit) represent days, but it represents different days depending on 0 or 5 that comes after.

For example, EAC18-122-5-XXXX (mine), represents March 23, 2018 filing date, while EAC18-122-0-XXXX represents January 30, 2018 filing date.

It is my understanding that 0 was an old system which has now been migrated to the new one sometimes early in 2018.  My guess is most (if not all) of March 2018 filer have only number “5” in the 6th digit of their receipt.

My point is, when you see people share their WAC/EAC number only the first FIVE digits, especially in the forum January 2018 or anytime before that, their receipt could seem sequentially close to yours, but without knowing the 6th digit, you cannot really tell if their filing dates are actually close to yours.

Food for thought.

May filer with NOA in June and I have a number 5 in the 6th slot.

Honestly I don't know why people ask for others case numbers. It's been proven time and time again that files are NOT always adjudicated in the order they received and they no one should rely on their case being done simply because a person near their time line was approved or RFE'd.

It's the ones who expect a certain time frame or try to figure out the system that end up going crazy when these things continue not to make any sense.

Especially since right now everyone from Nov 2017 filers to March 2018 filers are being approved, at random, with no rhyme or reason.

Ash.1101 - people do expect cases to be processed chronologically and they would have been, if they were not transferred.

A bulk of cases for October 2017, November 2017, and early December 2017 were transferred out of CSC to primarily TSC, followed by VSC, and then NSC.  That is why January 2018 filers at CSC and beyond are now seeing their cases being approved while those (unfortunately) transferred cases have to wait until TSC or NSC get to them.  I-751 has NEVER been adjudicated by TSC or NSC, as a result, the newly trained adjudicators are probably working slower, and their decisions are probably subject to additional reviews.

There are explanations to how they work.  It is not perfect, but it is logical.

Honestly on VJ I have never seen anything to make anyone believe that they are done in order. I've only ever seen consistently that it's within a couple of months of a range, but that it's inconsistent on how long it last like that. My husbands AOS took 66 days, while others months before and after his, with no RFE or interview took months or a year.

There's always been a good handful of people, who simply just fell through the cracks. One of the reasons I was never a fan of watching to see who is approved and when because sometimes it has no baring on their case. I've seen people rely on the trends they see on VJ and then go into panic mode when months later they're still not being approved or RFE'd or ANYTHING and others have, and when they contact USCIS they just get the "You are still within the acceptable timeframe" response.

I guess I have never expected the cases to be done chronologically because in the time I've been on VJ, this expectation hasn't really been something to come to fruition for a ton of people.
