We're applying for N-400 as soon as we receive our tax refund.  Online is better imo.  Less paperwork getting lost, etc.

Same, we are just waiting on the account transcripts.  I feel like it's better to submit those than just the returns.

I m applying on feb 20.if transcript available till than I will upload that too if not,I will still apply and take transcript to interview.

i too have submitted my N-400 application a few weeks ago. 

will submit my tax return for this year in a month or so (you can upload additional documentation even after you have submitted your application online). 

 

question: has anyone traveled to Mexico (not my home country) for vacation while their AOS status is pending?

i know that mexico doesn't require a visa if you are US permanent resident, but i'm afraid that they may give me some trouble since my card is expired. would they (the mexico border) acknowledge the extension letter we received?

junehar - I believe you meant to say ROC is pending. We are all past AOS.  Mexico does recognize both an extension letter and I-551 stamp when an actual card has expired.  I have traveled to Mexico City using both.  The first time I used the extension letter, and the second time I used I-551 stamp when my actual card was lost.

 

The airlines here in the US will not board you to begin with if your documents cannot be validated.  All flights departing to and from the United States are required to clear all passengers on the manifest with CBP (Customs and Border Protection).  As soon as the airline runs your A# at check-in, they will receive a response whether your LPR status is valid.

 

Mexico will also run your number at the immigration on arrival to confirm that you are a US LPR.

Thank you! It’s been a particularly bad few months personally so I’m relieved to have some good news to celebrate! 

 

Really hoping everyone else starts to hear soon! I plan to apply for citizenship as soon as possible!
