hi there,

 

I just got a copy of an 18-month-extention letter, not an official notice. It's just a thin white paper, not a green thick paper. 

 

It said "We have mailed an official notice about this case (and any relevant documentation) according to mailing you choose on Forum G-28, Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Accredited Representative. This is a courtesy copy, not the office notice. 

 

I asked my lawyer. She said she has received the same copy I got, not the official one. Anybody is in the same situation with or without lawyer? What kind of document you guys got in the mail?

 

I'm traveling outside of the country soon. I will use an official 12-month-extention letter to travel with me.

The only problem you will have traveling with your 12 month letter is if you are at the 12 month mark. Otherwise, you will be fine.

Also, I filed without an attorney, shouldn't I had just received the actual letter? I am confused. I don't remember any form G-28.

Yea same. I just hope they don't send it to our original address which we no longer live at. We got the unofficial notice at our new address so hopefully it comes here in a few days.

Got our 18 month NOA letter yesterday.  Interested to see how long it takes for the actual extension letter to arrive.  As Patbaha said, the letter we received is just a courtesy letter to tell you the official letter is coming.
