Hmmm our NOA1 is dated before yours, and we haven't gotten the extension letter yet...did you get a USCIS status update about it as well?

Anyone else thinking about naturalization?  We become eligible in February 2019!  

 

"The spouse of a U.S. citizen filing for naturalization on the basis of his or her marriage may file the naturalization application up to 90 days before the date he or she would first meet the required three-year period of continuous residence. ^[11] Although an applicant may file early and may be interviewed during that period, the applicant is not eligible for naturalization until he or she has satisfied the required three-year period of residence. All other requirements for naturalization must be met at the time of filing."

I never got any status updates. But some who got their first NOA after me, got the 18 months one before. So my guess is that it's coming. They all seem to be dated 8.11, so yours is probably stuck in the mail. It should come very soon!

It is something I'm planning on doing. I have been thinking about it, but will mostly wait until after I get the 10 years card.

I will become eligible on Feb 5 and I will do so as soon as possible. The faster I can stop doing business with USCIS the better.

I've been away from the forum for a while - work has been crazy!  Just seen we are doing a spreadsheet for the 18 month extension letters. I got mine in the mail yesterday, dated August 1st. Still waiting for our daughter's extension letter. She filed jointly with me, but her documentation is always separate and a few weeks behind mine so I'll let y'all know when that one arrives too.

Regarding the information about 90 days from when you were first legally resident, can I just clarify that said date refers to the date on my original AOS Welcome Letter? Or is it the issue date stamped on the GC?  Not that there is much difference in time between the two but as you said ..... the sooner the better!

You are eligible to apply for citizenship 90 days preceding the resident since date on your Green Card, not before; nor any dates from any other notices.

I've just got my 18 months extension letter last week. At least i dont have to get passport stamp very soon. ☺
