That's right, as long as you filed in the proper time frame (90 days before expiration), your status does not expire. You are fine until they make a decision on your case (which is obviously taking a long time at this point).

I called USCIS yesterday. They told me NoA1 currently takes 15-30 days. And that's without the extra days it takes with snail mail. Thought that could be useful to share!

seems like the case status website does not update as frequently as this website https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ so it's a good idea to create an account on this site.

Just thru my bank account, as soon as they cash the check, it shows as cashed on your account.
