I was able to upload more documents by clicking on "add document"...so I'm relieved I was able to add what I wanted. Its weird that for the petitioner, proof of US citizenship isn't listed as a "required document"...maybe because we already proved it with the I-130...but I uploaded my passport in the additional documents section just to be safe!

I got NOA2 on Feb 20, then received an email from USCIS that they sent our case to NVC on March 2, just called NVC today and the women said that they didn't receive our case yet. Is this normal? Anyone else with the same situation?

I keep hearing "it can take up to 8 weeks for us to receive a package from USCIS." So I guess it's normal. I plan to just keep calling and calling and calling. They said they sent mine on the 19th, so I guess I should wait a week or so (but it just feels better when I call!)

Its ridiculous how long certain things take. I think they sent my petition via carrier pigeon lol. I was approved November 15th...they didn't mail it until December 26th (got the status update of sent to department of state)...it arrived at NVC on January 8th.

Carrier pigeons would explain a lot! Poor overworked birds. It's too bad that the US government hasn't discovered the joys of technology yet lol. Wel, it makes me feel better to think that maybe 2 weeks from now I'll get the relief of knowing the pigeons made it. Thanks!

You need them to fill out a I-864, provide proof of citizenship (passport or birth certificate), proof of US domicile (I did drivers license, water bill & electric bill), tax transcript for at least one year. I also provided their 1099 and social security statement.  If you are adding a household member, they need to fill out an I-864a, proof of citizenship, proof of US domicile and proof of relationship to the sponsor.

I’m the beneficiary my husband is filing for me he lives alone but the income won’t be enough cause it’s a part time job but I’m going to use my aunt as a co sponsor. So was wonder if it’s only the W2s and the taxes they would only need from my aunt who is the co sponsor

Does your Aunt live in the U.S.? Its best to have her order a tax transcript online (took about 2 weeks to receive). Then you don't have to worry about W2s. But if you use her tax return, then yes, you need to provide the W2 as well. You also have to provide proof that she is a US citizen or permanent resident...and you also have to show proof that she lives in the U.S. (proof of US domicile).

I think mine were 200dpi & still clear to read everything, but not vibrant, if that makes sense. As long as they can read everything it should be fine I hope!

Got a quick question about co-sponsor.

My dad will be my husband co-sponsor given that I have been working in a foreign country.  My dad files taxes jointly with my mum. Income is from my dad’s job and a small portion from my mum’s social security. My dad’s W2 is more than enough to sponsor my husband without my mum’s social security income.

Is there a need for my mum to fill out an I864A?

i have obtained transcripts for 2014-2016, but 2017 won’t be available until 6-8 weeks later (my dad just posted his tax return). I think it would be OK to submit 2017 tax return and 2015 and 2016 tax transcripts.

I believe because they file jointly it's recommended to have your mom fill out the I-864a. That's what I did...then you just need to show their proof of relationship (marriage certificate) & you have to provide proof of US citizenship & US domicile for both. So it's not a lot of extra paperwork to add. I also included their social security statements & pension statements.
