But the wait is too long! :(

Yes but then it’s going to be much faster! You wait a bit more now to wait less later! :) I think with CEAC you can have case complete in couple of months. Regular cases I believe take bit longer maybe.

Yes but then everything goes faster and smoother than regular case meaning if yours is a pivot case you just need to upload documents online so it’s much faster and easier!

Just called the NVC and they received my case on 03/19/2018. Lady told me same thing as she told everyone to wait upto 8 week to assign case number. I hope its soon than that. Does the case number come by email or they mail the letter with case number and invoice number?

I got NOA2 on Feb 20, then received an email from USCIS that they sent our case to NVC on March 2, just called NVC today and the women said that they didn't receive our case yet. Is this normal? Anyone else with the same situation?

For the petitioner the only required documents are the I-864 & the tax return or transcript. They have a tab to add additional documents if you want. For joint sponsor they require I-864, proof of US citizenship, proof of domicile and tax return/transcript.

Thanks. Should have case number this week. Just was curious if documents any different from usual case.

I think even if u dont have joint sponsor u still need to provide us passport. like im us citizen and no joint sponsor but will still give them copy of passport.

My USCIS status changed from "we approved your I-130" to "we sent your petition to the department of state." I did not know that was going to happen. There were 14 days between the two dates. So, mail takes like 3 days to get from Nebraska to New Hampshire, so I should imagine they'll receive it anywhere between tomorrow and death.

In this day and age, you'd think these things would be more streamlined.

Anyone else get the "we sent your petition to the department of state?" Do you think it means that it left USCIS that day? Phone calls to NVC continue to be a dead end.

Its ridiculous how long certain things take. I think they sent my petition via carrier pigeon lol. I was approved November 15th...they didn't mail it until December 26th (got the status update of sent to department of state)...it arrived at NVC on January 8th.

You need them to fill out a I-864, provide proof of citizenship (passport or birth certificate), proof of US domicile (I did drivers license, water bill & electric bill), tax transcript for at least one year. I also provided their 1099 and social security statement.  If you are adding a household member, they need to fill out an I-864a, proof of citizenship, proof of US domicile and proof of relationship to the sponsor.
