has anyone had this come up where they're only using most recent year taxes (say 2017) but few years ago (say 2015) they did joint return so will need to provide w2 for that year. do u only provide w2 and NOT tax return? also is w2 for both people or just one? thanks!!

from nvc wiki:

If you filed jointly, then make sure you use the combined income (since it doesn't separate the incomes) and then submit W2s to show individual income.

Are you talking about for joint sponsors? If you use the tax transcript, then you don't have to provide W2s. What I did for the sponsor & household member, since they file jointly...I submitted the tax transcript plus each of there individual 1099s & since they collect social security...each of their social security statements.

My scan date is 3/7/18, I think we should be getting our CC soon. It seems they are taking around 3 weeks and I saw someone yesterday with a scan date of 3/1 and someone else with 3/2 get their CC's. Good luck! :)

Thank you!!!!!!!!!

I got email this week saying my case if forwarded to NVC on 03/12 so hopefully in mid or late April will receive some good news. I hope its a quick process from now. Waiting at TSC to approve was very frustrated time.

Guys just to understand better, if a PITOV CEAC online case number takes 8 weeks (2 month?) for receiving one, how long does it take to receive case number for a regular case? Mailing everything to NVC? And even if it takes longer to get case number for PIVOT cases, isn’t then faster uploading documents online rather than shipping them to NVC?

we cant pick if we want to do online or by mail they tell us depending on embassy. regular cases i think take 3-4 weeks...

Yes but then everything goes faster and smoother than regular case meaning if yours is a pivot case you just need to upload documents online so it’s much faster and easier!
