alright, NVC is not making any sense. 2 days ago i called. a representative said wait for few more days as it's been over 9 weeks already for your case so you will get a case number within few days time as it's been sent to a supervisor almost 6 weeks ago.

so i called them again just now to check if they have assigned a case number yet. the representative i just spoke to now. told me it's not with any supervisor, your case is in normal procedure. call next week to check if you have a case number.  :angry:

Are you a pivot case? So my case is not a pivot case as far as I know and till March 9, NVC was saying they received it on Feb 9. When I called back on March 12, they said its in the Pivot dept and now they're telling me they RECEIVED it march 12. I lost 4 weeks to God knows what. Now they're saying 8 weeks from March 12..I hope it doesnt take 10 weeks.

You should keep calling multiple times to see if someone can tell you why it is taking so long!

(And we thought the USCIS wait was bad!)

Some folks here told me that Islamabad embassy cases falls into pivot cases category. So yes its probably pivot since it's going to be processed through CEAC, But that's crazy how there own statements differes from one representative  to another. First they told us they received it on 10th january now they are saying its recieved at 17th . So its been 10 weeks almost or 9 according to 2nd representative. When we filled petition i thought i was one of those lucky people whose approval is gonna be fast as it was sent to potomac but naaah! Potomac take 7 months to approve it. And now this. That's insane!!!

Hey guys...just a tip I thought I'd share...for those doing electronic processing. I have a joint sponsor and household member. When you click on "add joint sponsor" you can enter their info and upload the I-864 and their proof of citizenship. Then it takes about an hour for NVC to process that and add them under your name (the petitioners name). Once their name is added you can submit more documents like tax transcript, proof of domicile, etc. Then it will say "submit documents" once you're all done. I thought if I hit "submit documents" it would only submit them for the person I was working on...I hit submit documents when I was done adding the household members docs...but it submitted everything...mine and the joint sponsor. I wanted to look over mine and my joint sponsors one last time, but I didn't get the chance since it submitted everything! I was able to check what I sent...but you can't change or add anything. I only uploaded one year of tax transcripts for my joint sponsor...I wanted to do 3 years worth...but everything was submitted and I couldn't add that. I'm really hoping its not an issue...but on my joint sponsors I-864 i checked off the box for sending 3 years. So I'm probably going to get a checklist, ugh! So just remember...don't hit submit unless all docs are uploaded for everyone!

My husband couldn't fill online,  he had to print out the form and then fill the form with a pen. Will that be accepted? We haven't sent it yet though.

Yes that should be fine. There were certain fields that I couldn't fill in online, so I had to hand write some info. Also, with CEAC, I assume that everyone has to print & sign & then rescan...I read that they will not accept an electronic signature. When you upload the documents, there is a box to write comments...so I wrote "please note that some information is written in by hand".

NVC received my case on the 16th of March. I spoke to a "rude lady" from NVC and according to her I need to wait 8 weeks to receive my case number. I know they are saying now 8 weeks is a normal time to receive case number. But is it actually taking that long?

Hopefully not that long. I believe you will get yours by the end of this week (if you are not pivot case :( ). Somebody has their case number on monday (Nvc received feb14th). I have mine today (Nvc received feb 15th). So yours is on the way. Dont worry. Cheer up!!!!
